Max Biaggi Sees Jorge Lorenzo as Next Big Thing in MotoGP

Biaggi was interviewed recently and said that he thinks Lorenzo is the future of MotoGP. According to Biaggi, Lorenzo has what it takes to become a top talent in the paddock - and to possibly win more races than Biaggi has thus far in his career. At least Max has found a nice home at Aprilia in WSBK.

TTXGP Still Racing in Britain - Three New Races Scheduled

So, along with the TTXGP at the 2010 Isle of Man TT and the recently-announced Infineon round, the three new TTXGP races in the United Kingdom will make it five races in the series - so far. And, of course, there is the finale, which has yet to be scheduled - so, six events. That is not bad for the first year of a series using motorcycles which were designed just months ago - some may not have even reached the drawing board yet. 2010 will be a good year for motorcycle racing.

eBay Find: 1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport from Combined Design

This is a lovely Italian beauty. The 1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport may not exactly top the list of coveted motorcycles, but it is usually on the list somewhere due to its own heritage and how well it is generally loved. The team at Combined Design breathed on this model a great deal. It now looks like something which has no time and can transcend genres a little. That color is enough to make it sweet - they call it Cherry O.

A Fate From an Adventure - Brammo Across the USA

Nathan Abbott wanted to take a ride - and he was already an adventurer of some note - on a Brammo electric motorcycle from Oregon to his home in Georgia. However, though he had a very lucky life up to this point, that luck ran out (as so many people's luck does once they get to Oregon) in Roseburg, Oregon, where he was struck from behind by a young person driving an Audi. He is in the hospital now and doing better, but he has a very long recovery ahead of him. Take the link, please, and see to it that he gets some help.

The first long-distance road ride aboard the new 2010 Honda VFR1200F at MCN (UK) did not go very well. Maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe it is true that the new Honda is just not where it should be...yet.

Dymag Racing UK in Bankruptcy? It Seems So

I have not seen a single blurb anywhere about this, but this posting seems to make it perfectly clear. I do not know why this news would be missed by the larger publications as it seems pretty major. After all, their products are everywhere and used by many people. They were also the first company to produce a magnesium motorcycle racing wheel. I hope this is just some mistake...

Why We Should Be Thankful the FIM Split from TTXGP

Well, the reasoning in this article is very good and makes sense. However, we still have not seen Azhar Hussain have any issues related to his participation in the TTXGP and his Mavizen electric motorcycle. It is easy to see that a conflict of interest could arise in that situation, though. So, maybe it is better that the FIM created their own series for racing e-motorcycles. The new to our market KYMCO Quannon 150 is something of a beginner bike - slotted just under the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and the Hyosung GT250. This motorcycle was originally designed for the European market as they have the graduated licensing (have to start off on a small displacement and move up through time and experience; something we should adopt here as well) and those new riders usually purchase a 125c.c. vehicle to improve their skills with until they can take the next test and move up. But, with the recession, the popularity of scooters, and high fuel prices coming back all too soon, KYMCO has decided to sell this machine in the US. Now, let's see if it will become a popular mode of transport - I sure hope so!

So few 6-cylinder motorcycles have seen production over the years and now BMW is poised to change that for the 21st century...

FIM Announces e-Power International Series - Electric Motorcycle Racing

Already the FIM has four races scheduled in its e-Power Series - an all new series which has yet to even be completely defined - and they are promising more; it will be run in conjunction with the FIM Endurance series. It is simple to see why, electric motorcycles are the future and they may become an important class in motorcycle racing as well. The most important part of this announcement is that the FIM has 'pulled the plug' from the TTXGP eGrandPrix series - Azhar Hussain is not too happy with this. But, there are several modifications including an outstanding color and design combination - the lines are very dynamic. OK, so I like the look - it has to do with the way it appears to be faceted. United Nations Recognizes Motorcycle Safety in Resolution

As reality is, this means nothing more than 'we know there are many dangers in some areas of transport and we do need to solve those issues', but it is a major step from the United Nations (UN). The FIM was present and paying close attention. And, it is great to hear this after all the omissions in the 'future transport' schemes being proposed. So, we should be grateful, and we are. We really need to pay close attention to this because it could cause the motorcycle industry some problems. Please simply support your local association. They will help keep us free to ride.

Know Much About The American Motorcyclist Association's Financials?

Well, probably not - unless you work there! The long awaited Form 990 document was filed, and the report was provided by the Guidestar site; they are a sort of non-profit watchdog. Nothing bad here, but also no direct information about how much was paid for AMA Pro Racing (essentially - it has had many names now) by DMG. Most are just curious, but some are truly interested. Well, it is left off of this form, but Paradama - so, this could be some indication. Anyway, if you are interested in your organization, go and take a look.
