Even More New Year's Eve News from the Moto World, Part 2

Didn't expect this news to make it, but here it is...

There is a sweet bike which was found on eBay by the bloggers at Motorcycle Classics - a 1984 Kawasaki GPz550. Now, this bike may not be very interesting to you, but to me it was a very significant motorcycle. They were everywhere when I was growing up back then and they were certainly hard to miss when on the street. This model has over 37,000 miles on it, but it was very well taken care of...take a look!

Next, we have a trip to the Bonneville Vintage GP at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. This is just an article describing what happened at the 4th annual event in 2009 - and noting why you should not miss the 2010 running. Anyone who enjoys classic or historical motorcycles and motorcycle racing will enjoy this event like none before it!

Well, we also have a concept motorcycle which borrows heavily from the Confederate models in its design. The RK Racer is - of course - based on a Buell 1200 engine (not sure which one they mean) and it has many sharp edges. See if you think it is any better than what the Louisiana manufacturer (Confederate) produces and take a long look.

And, yet another list of concept and prototype motorcycles which the author of the post hopes will one day enter production for sale to us mortals. It is very similar to many others you may have read, but it has plenty of pictures for which you are bound to produce your own drool! Some of these are simply gorgeous!

Dates Announced: 2010 Bonneville Vintage GP at Miller Motorsports Park

The AHRMA and Miller Motorsports Park have now announced when you will be taking a vacation...well, I wish we all could do so to attend this event! It will be held during 3 - 5 September 2010 in Utah. The usual races will be held, speed trials will be going on at the Salt Flats, swap meet, vendor booths and some demo rides will be offered. It is - as the other two were - not to be missed if you can get your time off from work...

Series of Reports from Bonneville Vintage GP

This came to me via a group post (F-160 Group on Yahoo) and I figured that others might enjoy it as well. Ken Bingenheimer from the 'Examiner' was at the event and produced several articles about his weekend. If you were not there, this is a good way to catch up on the action from last weekend.

Doug Polen's Bonneville Vintage GP CB160 Victory

Doug Polen took time to come out to Miller Motorsports Park last weekend to participate in the Bonneville Vintage GP. He had already set up a ride on a Honda CB160 for that class and managed to claim victory on a machine he had never ridden before that weekend. That is what I call a professional racer!

Photos from Miller Motorsports Park Bonneville Vintage Grand Prix

I did not find much news on the AHRMA Bonneville Vintage GP last weekend, but I did manage to get a mail from a local group who were there. These are some photos taken at the event, so please enjoy!

Bonneville Vintage GP Concours d'Elegance at MMP

Miller Motorsports Park is hosting the Bonneville Vintage GP and many other motorcycle-related events this weekend out in Tooele, Utah. I would love to be there for this as there is just so much activity! The first report form the event that I have seen is after the link; it is the Concours d'Elegance...

Very Busy Day for Bonneville Vintage GP Participants

It was tough to find anyone not working on something at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah today. The racers were practicing and the vendors and show staff had plenty to set up. Photos of this follow the link.

Bonneville Vintage GP and Concours - An Ever More Important Event

At Miller Motorsports Park this weekend, the AHRMA will host the Bonneville Vintage GP. This you may already know if you keep track of such things - or, if someone actually reads my blog - but there is more. After the link, you will find an article on the event and its growing importance. And, if you keep track of the author, he will provide photos aplenty and cover the happenings at the Tooele, Utah track.

Doug Polen to Race CB160 at Bonneville Vintage GP

Those CB160 racers are mostly based nearby my tidy little home outside of Portland, OR. I have been a member of their group - just idly watching and reading the news - for some time as I wanted to join their ranks (a lay-off has prevented that for the time being, but not for long). As Doug Polen will be joining them at the Bonneville Vintage GP on Saturday, September 5, I should direct you to the link:
