FIM Speedway GP to Use Noise-Reducing Silencers in Birmingham Round

In order to save the series' round at Birmingham, U.K., the organizers have decided to ask the teams to place silencers on their machines to keep the noise level down a bit. That will allow them to continue to run the Speedway GP event at the location for the foreseeable future. Of course, new British wildcard riders Freddie Lindgren, Chris Harris, and Tai Woffinden are very happy to hear that they will still have an event close to home...

Tai Woffinden to Race in Speedway GP as Wildcard

They get to choose a certain number of (usually 4) wildcard riders who will run the entire season along with the series regulars. FIM Speedway Grand Prix is a very fast sport, so whomever you pick had better be good enough to challenge the other racers. Well, apparently, the officials are quite pleased with Tai Woffinden; he will be riding in a wildcard spot throughout the series in 2010. Woffinden is only 19, and he has some good company in Chris Harris - the second wildcard from the U.K.
