More on the ION Electric Sportbike

This 22-year-old college student built this beast with less than US$12,000. So, the question which this raises is why haven't any of the major manufacturers jumped on this bandwagon!?! With current off-the-shelf parts, they could easily build a similar machine - and, with the economic scale of building several instead of just one, it would be much less expensive to make. Another example of corporate bulk getting in the way of change.
