Saturday Moto News - Blackhorse Kawasaki and Valentino Rossi

Team Blackhorse Kawasaki - Ian Lougher's Kawasaki team - has now signed David Pearce and re-signed Conor Cummins for the 2010 British Superbike Season. Pearce will contest the Junior 600 Superstock class for his first foray into BSB racing, and Cummins will continue in the Superstock 1000 class (Cummins will also continue riding for the McAdoo Racing team in 'real roads' events). Lougher has put together a great team and we will benefit from the challenging racing...

Apparently, Valentino Rossi had to be rushed to the hospital on Thursday (14 January 2010) for pain in his abdomen. The reports say that he had an inflamed appendix, but there is no information on how it was treated. (In the US, they would operate and take it out for safety.) However, it does appear that his ride in the Ferrari F1 car is still on.

2010 Isle of Man TT Will Have Even More Greats on the Road Course

At the Isle of Man, we will once again see John McGuinness - who is now second on the all time win list - and there could be as many as 10 former winners lining up to compete against him! It will be yet another historic racing event which you will not want to miss. Guy Martin, Michael Dunlop, Steve Plater, Bruce Anstey, Cameron Donald, Ian Lougher, Ryan Farquhar and many, many more will be there to fight for a victory on the 37.73 mile course. The list actually is much, much longer, so take the link and have a read at what to expect in 2010!

Kings of Wanneroo Event Photos and Winner

Well, I have yet to find a decent article on the results of the Kings of Wanneroo event in Australia this weekend, so I am posting a link to a forum where there are some photos and the announcement that Jonathan Rea has put Shannon Johnson in his place by taking the event's overall win. If I get more, I will post it!

Ian Lougher Joins with Kawasaki for Isle of Man TT

We already know that he is now on his way to Australia for the Kings of Wanneroo event, but this is even better news. We also know Lougher was already set to ride for Team Blackhorse Kawasaki in the British Superbike Superstock 1000 Championship. Now, the Blackhorse team will also be competing in the Isle of Man TT and Lougher will lead that effort. It seems that he will also run in some other racing events - I assume also in BSB - using both the Ninja ZX-6R and ZX-10R...A man on a racing mission!

Jonathan Rea, Jeremy McWilliams, Andrew Pitt, Guy Martin, and Simon Andrews will all be at the Barbagallo Circuit shortly after the other group. It will be an all-star event for the Perth crowd. I certainly hope someone televises it since I cannot travel there...

Ian Lougher Makes it 14 Wins in the Ulster Grand Prix

This does appear to be from a Yamaha press release, but the statistics are incredible. Lougher managed to break a few records (some were broken by other riders on the same weekend) and tied two important records - three race victories on the weekend and second most wins all time at the Dundrod Circuit.
