Hupy & Abraham, S.C has donated US$7500 to the group known as Rescue Riders. It is an appropriate name as they are trained emergency response personnel who volunteer their time helping out at accident scenes - actually, a volunteer medics - good people helping out all of us. OK, enough of that. Anyway, the money will go on to help train 300 more volunteers for the roads of Illinois and Wisconsin. Nice to hear some good news...

Paul Whibley Stuns Competitors and Has Perfect Season in OMA Series
Whibley had already won the GNCC title last week and now he goes down in the record books after winning every single Parts Unlimited Off-Road Motorcycle and ATV Nationals race in 2009. It was even surprising to Whibley who seemed at a loss for words when he was interviewed after his win at last weekend's Moose Run in Fenton, Illinois. It's a great story and one which will not soon be forgotten!

Another Sign of the Times: Chicago's Champion Cycle Center In Serious Trouble
They keep saying on the financial pages and on the news that the economy is getting better - but for whom? It doesn't seem that any middle-class or impoverished people have had their lives improve much recently. This is the sad economic situation which forced Champion Cycle into US$190,000 in debt. Today, the creditor who is owed this money repossessed some 200 motorcycles, ATVs and wave runners with the help of a Sheriff's deputy. If only it would be possible to save this 40+ year-old small business...I would love to be in charge of helping them resolve this issue...
