EICMA: Detail on Moto Guzzi's Award-Winning V12 Concept Motorcycles

Pierre Terblanche is someone with whom most of us are familiar - at least those of us who have a leaning towards Italian motorcycles. He was the principal - but not only - designer for the Moto Guzzi V12 series of concepts which we saw at EICMA. These machines did win a coveted design award at the show there in Italy, but how much do we know about them? Not too much, actually. We certainly gleaned some details from previous reports, but if you take the link below, you will learn much more about these potential production prototypes...

EICMA: Moto Guzzi's V12 Concept Motorcycles Win MDA Award

The three V12 concept motorcycles presented by Moto Guzzi at the EICMA show in Milan have won the prestigious Motorcycle Design Association Award. Last year's winner (oddly enough) was the Ducati Streetfighter. The new models from Moto Guzzi really impressed the MDA judges...

EICMA: More Moto Guzzi Motorcycles and Information!

From our friends at MCN (UK), we have three stories about the new Moto Guzzi prototype/concept motorcycles which were presented at EICMA in Milan today. First up is the V7 Clubman; what a beautiful machine. It is based on the V7 Cafe already in production and is customized with new exhaust, special paint, polished fuel tank and even number plates...just lovely...

Nest up is the story behind the V12 concept motorcycles elsewhere on this blog. Not much more is explained here, but there are some novel sketches and the idea is put forward that one of the V12 concepts might be the replacement for the venerable Le Mans - given the tag V12 LM and the description from the previous article, this is possible.

And, finally we get to hear that all of the concept motorcycles are 80% ready for production! Wow, this would certainly make Moto Guzzi an even more desirable marque. Those Italians!

EICMA: Moto Guzzi Shows V12 Concept Motorcycles

No, it is not actually a V-12, but a V-twin with 1151c.c. of displacement - thus V + 1200 = V12. There were three concepts on display at the show: V12 LM, V12 Strada and V12 X, each with their own purpose. The designers behind these pieces of art are former Ducati engineers Miguel Galluzzi and Pierre Terblanche. The design is meant to showcase some incredible technology and the famous Guzzi V-twin engine. Look for the LED headlights and the rear-view mirrors which are actually LCD screens attached to rear-facing cameras. Wow, what will come next!?
