Destry Abbott's Thoughts on Kawasaki's SCORE Baja 1000 Race

Kawasaki entered the SCORE Baja 1000 this year as a factory effort for the first time in recent years - they have been gone from the race for over 11 years until now. Abbott and the other riders, Robby Bell, Steve Hengeveld, Ryan Penhall and Conner Penhall, turned in a very respectable race at the annual desert race in Baja California. They only lost to Honda's team by three tiny little minutes - that's just 180 seconds. Next year, watch out Honda!

Early Results from Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 Desert Race

Well, probably the most well-known motorcycle racer in Baja 1000 racing, Johnny Campbell, had his team on the top spot in Class 22 on their Honda CRF450X. The team consisted of Kendall Norman, Tim Weigand and Quinn Cody - also some well recognized off-road racers. The race consisted of a 672.85-mile course of natural desert terrain; it started for the 35th time and finished for the 20th time in Ensenada, Mexico, 65 miles south of the U.S. border at San Diego. Rsenal Racing to Tackle SCORE Baja 1000

Talk about a test of endurance, the Baja 1000 race is promoted as the longest point-to-point race on the planet Earth. Most participants will tell you that just to finish the race is to win. Team Rsenal Racing will use a 2008 Yamaha YZ450WR with three different riders switching up. It all goes off November 19-22, 2009 on the Baja, Mexico.
