MORE Afternoon Moto News - Inland Northwest Motorcycle & Kawasaki UK

The Inland Northwest Motorcycle Show went off this past weekend in Spokane, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest. The show was mostly made up of local dealerships and motorcycle-related businesses - of which there are many fewer this year than last due to the lackluster economy - and the halls were much more occupied than even the author expected. Take a look and see what we missed...

Kawasaki's U.K. operation has set up a website for British residents who wish to take a demo ride of a new Kawasaki motorcycle. The site - kawasakitestride.co.uk - allows anyone to get their leg over a new machine from the Japanese marque. It's a great idea that we all hope will spread to other countries as well!

Riding Men Book Tour Running Around the Left Coast

The Riding Men are Mark Gardiner and Ed Milich - and the left coast is the West Coast, just so you know. They will begin their tour in San Francisco on 11 December 2009 and will continue north through Portland and Seattle, Washington. They are both promoting new books - which we should all read - and will be signing copies for waiting fans. Don't miss it, I won't!

Tecate 500 Runner-up William Ray “Bill” Halbert Passes Away...

Bill Halbert was a respected man in his community and in the motorcycling world in general. You may not have heard of him, but he probably has made a difference to many people over the years. He was a resident of Brookings, Oregon, and one-time owner of the Grand Prix Motorcycle shop in Lynwood, Washington. He also was both a parts manager and regional sales manager for Husqvarna Motorcycle. He even raced in AMA District 38 desert races - his favorite: Tecate Baja 500, where he finished as high as second place overall with his team. He passed away on 14 November 2009. Sad news...and so close by.

Women Moto-Journalists Take to the Streets on Selkirk Loop

From around the world come the 12 women who took part in this ride through British Columbia, Idaho and eastern Washington state. Harley-Davidson and the Idaho Division of Tourism put together the event and I only have to ask: why don't more states do this? Four days and 705 miles of some of the most beautiful riding in the world...lucky people...

Do You Stunt on Public Roads? This is Why You Should NOT!

Stunt riders can do some impressive things with a motorcycle; I always come away impressed after watching them at the Laguna Seca GP - which is a closed and controlled area away from the public streets and ignorant drivers. This is common sense people!
