More Afternoon Moto News - AMA Supercross, Glynn Kerr & Hyperleggera
Over in the AMA Supercross paddock, Monster Energy Kawasaki has decided to replace the injured Chad Reed with Nick Wey. Hopefully, he will be able to keep the podiums coming and give Reed a chance to get well and get back to work.

From the online magazine world we bring you an interview with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. He has designed some iconic motorcycles and has a running column at MCN (US), so you are probably familiar to you by now. What does he think the secrets to design are? Well, he does talk about the direction of bike styling nowadays...

sak_art design is back at it again. This time their design is known as the Ducati Hyperleggera (they love that 'Hyper' prefix, don't they!) and it is a twin based on the Ducati Monster 1100, but with an engine from either the Monster 696 or Hypermotard 796. It will be very light and it is designed to look fast just sitting there. Take a look and see if you want one...I bet you will!

Even More Afternoon Moto News - Zero Motorcycles, Honda Design and a Concept Ducati
Zero Motorcycles will be displaying its Zero S all-electric motorcycle at the Go Green Expo in Los Angeles. It will be held at the LA Convention Center this weekend. If you want to test ride a Zero S, you can sign up on their website (on the linked page), but you had better hurry! The Go Green Expo will also have plenty of other interesting displays and even discussion panels with various celebrities on hand.

We also get an inside look at the motorcycle design process at Honda. Specifically, designer Martin Manchester, who works for Honda R&D Americas, is interviewed here and the focus is his own work on the Honda Shadow Spirit 750 C2. It is not often that we get to see this deep within the company, and it will not be the last (I have something cooking right now for another publication).

They are calling it the Ducati Hypermono, well 'it' does not work well for this, it is more like 'them'. There are four variations on the theme, which was inspired by the beautiful street-legal Supermono Strada prepared by Alistair Wager. These machines were designed and built by sak_art design and may or may not be for sale at some point. Check them out...
