MSS Colchster Kawasaki rider Simon Andrews is in France doing high-altitude training. He will be competing in the British Superbike Championship in 2010, and he wants to be in his best shape. It makes sense to train in the thin air as it will make you even better at near sea-level altitudes. He has also been working on recovering from injury, but all seems to be going well so far.

Some Monday Afternoon Racebike Testing - Yamaha and Honda

First up MotorcycleUSA has had the chance to throw a leg over two World Supersport machines. The first is the championship winning Yamaha YZF-R6 of Cal Crutchlow. This is about a perfect factory-spec WSS motorcycle with electronics on the thing just shy of what you would find on a MotoGP machine. It is one hell of a wild ride! Just let me get my hands on one, please...

Next, they had the chance to ride on the WSS race-prepped Honda CBR600RR of Eugene Laverty. His team, Parkalgar Honda, may be a satellite team, but this bike performs like a factory-supported machine should. It has the above R6 in the mid-range, but is just a hair shy of it on the top end. Interview with Eugene Laverty - 2009 World Supersport Runner-Up

Laverty did have a tough time this year against the very dominant Cal Crutchlow on the Yamaha YZF-R6. But, Laverty's Honda CBR600RR was no slouch; he truly competed for race victory in almost every event. The very cool part of this story is that Laverty's team is a privateer team - no factory support - and yet they managed to beat out the factory supported Honda team...this is a good read.

GNS Racing to Join British Supersport Championship in 2010

The team is run by former Centurion Racing co-owner Gary Stubbington and will put two racers on specially prepared CBR600RRs. The first rider announced is Paul Jordan, who was a 125 British Championship front-runner in the past. The second rider will be announced soon. Always nice to have more teams in the paddock!

Guy Martin Signs With Wilson Craig’s Honda Team

Martin will basically run his own team with the deal he has been given. He will decide which bike to race and where to race it - though, as usual, he will be racing mostly in 'real roads' events such as the Scarborough, Southern 100, and the Isle of Man TT. He will have both a Superbike and a Supersport machine - both Honda, of course, and they will be prepared to his liking. A great deal for a racing legend!

The 6-Hour Endurance Motorcycle Race at Oran Park

Demolition Plus Racing took victory at the 6 hour endurance race at Oran Park in Australia this past weekend. The riders were Russell Holland, Gareth Jones and Craig Coxhell and they also took second position for the start of the event. The team managed to get into first place by the end of the first hour and led all the way to the finish - 277 laps later! Their Honda CBR600RR performed perfectly all weekend.

Confirmed: Michele Pirro Will Join Ten Kate Honda for 2010

Pirro will compete in the World Supersport Championship in 2010 with the Ten Kate team on a Honda CBR600RR. Since he was testing with them a week ago, it makes sense that this would deal would be done. It will be a good match according to past results. His past expertise in claiming championships will put Yamaha on notice...and, probably, make Honda happy.

William Dunlop Will Be a Busy Racer Next Month!

The Northern Ireland native Dunlop will first get to ride as a wildcard in the Valencia 250c.c. World Championship race on a PJ Flynn 250cc Honda - amazing in and of itself. Next, he will be riding a World Supersport (being ridden in that series by Robbin Harms) Veidec Racing Honda CBR600R in the Spanish Supersport 600 Championship! Wow, that is one damn fine chance at racing with the best in the world! Please wish him luck as it would be very cool to see him grab two podiums out of his time in Spain!
