Livia Lancelot is a female motocross rider who has reached the highest level of competition - the World Championship Female Motocross and has the 2009 title as well! From France, Lancelot has been racing since 1992 and has competed in the USA and Europe before entering the WMX series in 2005. She is worth a look if you are trying to find the leaders of today's women racers...or just an awesome motorcycle rider!

More Night Moto News - Teka Suzuki & Nelis 1000R
The FIM Motocross World Championship - as well as Belgian and German National events - team of Teka Suzuki has joined forces with Rockstar Energy as a major sponsor in all of their racing. This brings this already strong AMA Motocross pairing of Rockstar and Makita Suzuki (Ryan Dungey) even closer to the Suzuki factory. International sponsorship is incredibly important and has a stabilizing force on a race team. Riders Clement Desalle and Steve Ramon should be able to just worry about racing now. Look for some incredible results from this team thanks to this new deal!
Josh Coppins Will Race for Aprilia in World Motocross Championship
He replaced retiring rider and legend Stefan Everts at Yamaha in 2007 was just released from that team at the end of the 2009 season - due to economic trouble at Yamaha. Well, it was thought he would return to Australia to race since he had been on the world stage for 13 years. Aprilia, though, has convinced him to ride their MXV 4.5 in the MX1 class for 2010. He could become the very first world motocross champion on a V-twin.

Ohlins and Yamaha Join Forces in World Motocross Championship
Ohlins is not too far removed from motocross as it started in the off-road world back in 1976 and only left the dirt in 2003. So, now they have teamed up with the Yamaha Monster Energy world motocross team, which consists of riders David Philippaerts (MX1) and Gautier Paulin (MX2). It should add to the competitiveness of the all new 2010 YZ450F and its little partner, the YZ250F.

Clement Desalle Joins Teka Suzuki World MX1 Team for 2010
Desalle is the current Belgian Champion, but he wants to try his hands at the FIM World Motocross Championship in the MX1 class. He will race alongside teammate Steve Ramon. Desalle has impressed the team with some seriously fast racing during the 2009 season, so the team sees a legitimate chance at a title in 2010.

First of all, Marvin Musquin, at 19 years-old, is the new MX2 World Champion! An amazing story about an incredible rider...MX1 world champion Antonio Cairoli had a very tough time in the Brazilian dirt, though. Steffi Laier is 2009 World Women's Motocross Champion
Amazing that we finally have a world champion for women's motocross - the sport is growing, seemingly, exponentially! Fantastic! This year is the second year for the full championship honors and German Steffi Laier has taken it for 2009.

Cairoli Wins First MX1 Championship at FIM Motocross Lierop Netherlands
Antonio Cairoli only had to finish 6th overall to win his first FIM MX1 Championship at the Braun Grand Prix of The Netherlands. This leaves only the MX2 class up for grabs at the last round in Brazil.
