Video: Shell Advance and V-Power Fuel Work Together in Ducati Hypermotard Engine

This is a great video. Who would have thought that a soulless company like Shell Oil would produce something so interesting. It is a computer illustration of how Shell's lubricants and fuel work together in the Ducati Hypermotard engine to keep it running smooth. It is very well done...take a look.

First Ride: 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO + EVO SP + Video

So, yes this is another post about the 2010 Hypermotard EVO, but this one also includes a bit about the Hypermotard EVO SP as well! Ducati made some serious improvements to the Hyper for 2010 which make it superior to previous versions of the beast. The new models have better ergonomics, smoother response, a little more power, and are a bit lighter. The real news here, in my opinion, is that this is a great deal closer to what should have been released in 2008. If only they would include a larger fuel tank...

First Ride: 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO

The new nomenclature may take a while to sink in, but this is the base model of the Hypermotard 1100 - the uprated model is the Hypermotard EVO SP. So, what does the new machine feel like? How much lighter and how much more power does it have? Well, the article will tell you more, but the gist of it is that Ducati has improved the Hypermotard for the real world in which it is ridden. It has lost weight and gained power - and, it is more comfortable than the previous version, but it still lacks some ground clearance and may not be the best bike for the long road...but, track days would sure be fun!

Ducati to Improve Hypermotard 1100 for 2010

They say that the Hypermotard 796 was just a warm-up of sorts - to the public, at least - for the 2010 Hypermotard 1100. If you looked closely at the 796 you would have seen some interesting design differences between it and the current Hypermotard 1100 model. The 796 even handled better than the 1100. That will change when Ducati releases the 2010 1100 model at EICMA in Milan as the new model has improved frame for strength, more power, and better handlebars among other changes...

First Ride: 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796

MCN (UK) has a man in Bologna, Italy, running around on the new Hypermotard 796 and reporting back as to what its like. Apparently, it is not just a Monster 696 engine which has been bored-out; it is derived from that engine, but it is mostly an all new engine for this machine and it is actually 803c.c. in displacement. So far, the bike is much easier to ride than the 1100 version and is more friendly for new riders since it is lower, smaller and lighter. Ducati Rumored to Produce Smaller Hypermotard

The rumors have been flying around for a few months now, but there is yet to be any confirmation from the Bologna factory. It is said to be similar to the Monster series - as in the 696 Monster - and could be a Hypermotard 796.
