2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200S Ride & Motocorse Monster 1100 Titanium!

Here we ave another impression on the new Ducati Multistrada 1200. The odd aura around this machine seems to be holding back the big mag reviews. Must be waiting to sell some serious ads; that makes sense. This is a first impression of the Multistrada S model - the one I want - and it is a bit short. However, it is a nice rational look at this beast. Take the link and read it for yourself. (You already know that the author will drool over this of all bikes.)

This comes right out of Japan and Italy; the new machine of the moment from the brilliant folks at Motocorse have produced a rather severely beautiful and light Ducati Monster 1100. It is tricked out with all of their best kit and is loaded with titanium (obviously) and carbon fibre - saving nearly 29 lb. of weight. Put these Japanese artists to work with the Italian artists and the work of Motocorse is what you get - abject beauty. Take the link and learn the rest of the specs. No price has yet been announced, but if you have to ask...

More Afternoon Moto News - AMA Supercross, Glynn Kerr & Hyperleggera

Over in the AMA Supercross paddock, Monster Energy Kawasaki has decided to replace the injured Chad Reed with Nick Wey. Hopefully, he will be able to keep the podiums coming and give Reed a chance to get well and get back to work.

From the online magazine world we bring you an interview with motorcycle designer Glynn Kerr. He has designed some iconic motorcycles and has a running column at MCN (US), so you are probably familiar to you by now. What does he think the secrets to design are? Well, he does talk about the direction of bike styling nowadays...

sak_art design is back at it again. This time their design is known as the Ducati Hyperleggera (they love that 'Hyper' prefix, don't they!) and it is a twin based on the Ducati Monster 1100, but with an engine from either the Monster 696 or Hypermotard 796. It will be very light and it is designed to look fast just sitting there. Take a look and see if you want one...I bet you will!

First Ride: 2010 Ducati Monster 1100S

This is the first road test of the new for 2010 Ducati Monster 1100S - the uprated model of the Monster 1100. As you would expect, the author of the article loved the motorcycle from Bologna. It seems that the 1100S would be a good replacement if you are not looking for the hard-core edge of the Streetfighter, and you want the perfect dual-personality commuter machine.

First Look: 2010 Ducati Monster 696, Monster 1100, SportClassic Sport 1000 Biposto

OK, so this does come to us from Consumer Reports - not exactly known for their motorcycle chops, but certainly known for their no-bias, no advertising, clinical approach to testing anything they get their hands on. In this case, though, it is not about the little circles - no ratings here. But, we do have a great first look at the new 2010 Ducati Monster 696, Monster 1100, and SportClassic Sport 1000 Biposto - all some of the great and more affordable Ducati bikes. It's a quick read, but worthy of a look.

First Look: 2010 Ducati Monster 1100S

The Monster 1100S is the same old naked that we are used to - light, powerful and very pretty. It speaks to Ducati fans of time spent riding twisted roads and backroads riding with no end. The S model has the sweet Ohlins suspension, plenty of carbon fiber, and nice and light five-spoke gold colored wheels. You probably already know what to expect, but take a look to see the 2010 model in all of its glory...

Addendum: Ducati Launches More Than Just 2010 Multistrada

Ducati is also giving details on the 2010 Hypermotard 796 & 1100, the Monster models, new livery for the 1198, and - of course - the Multistrada 1200. After the link there are many press release pieces from the Ducati announcement in Milan today. If you want to know more, please take the link - it's all there!

Ducati Monster Art Club Contest Winners Announced

After months of entries and lots of voting, the winners of the Ducati Monster Art Club Contest have been announced. In first place is the Ducati Trapani Club of Italy with their creation, "Star Glitter." Second place is Magyar Ducati Klub of Hungary with the oddly named "Foodster." And, coming in in third is DOC Ducati Hellas of Greece with their stunning "El Greco", which is my favorite Monster here. Go on over to the site and have a look around; there are some amazing pieces of artwork there and it is worth every minute of drooling (of course, there are also several questionable designs, but that is the nature of imagination)!
