Monday Morning Moto News - Husaberg, Jesse Jones & Somerset Rebels

The International Indoor Enduro World Cup season is already over; it only had four rounds. Husaberg's man in the show, Joakim Ljunggren, pulled home a sixth position finish at the final round in Barcelona, Spain, which gave him a third overall for the entire 2010 season. That is the highest a rookie in the series has ever posted previously - look out as Ljunggren is on his way to a championship or more...

Jones - not James - and his first name is Jesse. He is also the youngest ever British motorcycle racing champion. He was crowned last year in the MRO Superteen Championship at the age of 12. This kid could be beginning one hell of a career...keep an eye on 'em!

The night before the British Speedway Grand Prix kicks of in Cardiff on 10 July 2010, but the night before will have even more action. On 9 July, the Somerset Rebels will host the 2010 Premier League Pairs Championship at Oak Tree Arena. This makes it two nights of incredible racing like no other - remember that Speedway bikes don't really have brakes - and should be fun for the entire family.

Friday Has Arrived - Moto News for Your Morning

At an upcoming AMA Pro Racing test at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, John Hopkins will be testing a Roadracingworld.com Suzuki GSX-R1000; he's been with them before, when he won his two AMA Championships in 2000 and 2001. He may very well end up in the American Superbike (update) class - and we should welcome him back to action. I missed him! The team will like the sponsorship he brings as well. We will see if he is there 2 -3 February 2010.

Husaberg Rider Joakim Ljunggren Has a Great Race at Spanish IEWC

The 2010 Indoor Enduro World Cup's penultimate round was held in Vigo, Spain, recently. Husaberg rider Ljunggren managed an overall second place at the event. This proves his improvements are beginning to take effect and he is challenging for the lead in this new series for Ljunggren. Since this is his first season on the indoor tracks, this is a significant improvement. The other Husaberg representatives, Oriol Mena and Xavi Galindo, had differing results - Mena qualified for his event for the first time in 2010 (it's also his first year in the series), but Galindo crashed hard in his final race and was taken to the hospital.

Husaberg's Joakim Ljunggren Has Good Race Weekend - Again

This is Ljunggren's first year in the Indoor Enduro World Cup (IEWC), but he is performing like it is his second nature. In his first event, in England, he rode to a respectable finish, in the second round in Italy, he placed fourth, third, and fourth during the weekend. That is even better than his results in the U.K. Look for even more improvement as Husaberg rider Ljunggren gets more and more familiar with the competition...

Husaberg Rider Joakim Ljunggren Wins Night Race at AMA EnduroCross Finale

It was the first EnduroCross race in the US for Husaberg factory rider Ljunggren, but that only seemed to make him want to compete all the more. He had some terrible luck in the heat and semi-final races, but they had him ride in the 'night' event with the other racers and he took that event by storm. He impressed the crowd and the officials - now we can see that Ljunggren can hold his own in the US series.

Novemberkåsan: Husaberg's Joakim Ljunggren is Triumphant!

Ljunggren, took the lead early in the event and went all the way to the finish in first place - beating his closest competitor by 45 minutes! The even was marred with cold temperatures and snowfall, but that did not stop the Husaberg rider; some of his competition sat out the race, so he did not have any real challengers. Even so, the rain/snow and cold made it one very tough enduro!

Joakim Ljunggren Will Compete in Final of AMA National EnduroCross in Las Vegas

Ljunggren, who recently competed in the famous Novemberkåsan, will be in Los Angeles soon to get ready to challenge the 2009 AMA National EnduroCross finale in Las Vegas. Husaberg was very impressed with his work at the Indoor Enduro event at the IEWC opener in the U.K., so they decided to send him to the US to compete against the best that that series has to offer. It should bring interesting racing to the event!

Husaberg Report: 2010 Indoor Enduro World Cup Opener in Sheffield, England

The 2010 IEWC first round was a rough and tough race weekend in the U.K. Husaberg rider Joakim Ljunggren - who was racing in his first ever indoor enduro - pulled home in sixth place - a very respectable result. Unfortunately, the second factory Husaberg rider was unable to even qualify for the main; Oriol Mena was just unprepared due to the injury he sustained at the recent ISDE in Portugal. Another Husaberg rider, Britain Ollie Moyce, had a decent weekend, but also did not qualify for the main event. Moyce did, though, win the 'night' race at the event and was quite happy about that - as would anyone.

Indoor Enduro World Cup Begins This Weekend

Husaberg is ready for it - well, at least one rider is ready, but the other is recovering from a fall at the Portugal ISDE. Joakim Ljunggren is ready to roll as he is a specialist when the Enduro gets tough and technical. Oriol Mena says he is at about 85% since he has not been able to train much due to his injury. Once the racing starts in Sheffield, U.K., both riders will be on Husaberg's FE390.

Husaberg Update from 2009 Portugal ISDE

The riders who compete for Husaberg were ready for the competition in Portugal this year. They did very well for their teams, but they did not gain individual trophies, unfortunately. Joakim Ljunggren had a good event finishing 12th on the fist day and then placing third on the second day in the E2 class; at the final race of the event in E2, he placed a respectable 9th. Calle Sjöö basically followed Ljunggren by placing 13th on day one and fourth on day 2 in the E2 class. He managed a fourth place in the final day's motocross event which took him to eighth overall. Salonen and Carlsson did not have such a great event, but Salonen placed himself in to the top 10 overall by the end; Carlsson was forced out of the event with an injury...

Husaberg will be Well-Represented at 2009 ISDE in Portugal

They will have all 5 of their European factory riders in the ISDE - Joakim Ljunggren, Björne Carlsson and Calle Sjöö for Sweden, Valtteri Salonen for Finland, and Oriol Mena for Spain. Also, North American riders Nick Fahringer and Rory Sullivan will also ride for the US and Canada, respectively. Over 500 riders form 24 nations will be in Portugal for the 84th International Six Days Enduro, which will be raced during 12 - 17 October 2009. Husaberg Rider Joakim Ljunggren Takes Third Overall in World Enduro E2

Husaberg's team was determined to do their best at St. Flour, France, and they did quite well. Ljunggren managed to hold off his chief rival and finish fifth in the second moto, which earned him a solid third place in championship points. Other members of the team did not fare so well with injuries and illness effecting their weekend...except for EJ Class overall sixth place finisher Calle Sjoo, who managed his second podium of 2009.
