Qualifying Results from Daytona International Speedway - Moto-GT, AMA SuperSport National

First of all, a local guy - Josh Day on the Team E.S.P. Yamaha - to the Daytona track took the pole position in the AMA Pro SuperSport National race. The race does not award points but it does award a number 1 plate for the nation. Any AMA SuperSport competitor is allowed to run and plenty of good racers from all over are in attendance. Sunday will see the race and that final championship for the 2009 AMA SuperSport season.

And, over in the Moto-GT series, Josh Hayes has decided to run a Westby Racing Yamaha R6 along with teammates Jeff Wood, Dane Westby and Dustin Meador. He was in town anyway to be with his wife, Melissa Paris, as she is set to compete at the Fall Cycle Scene Championship Cup Series - she has just returned from injury. Well, Hayes took pole for Sunday's race in the GT1 class. Martin Cardenas is right behind him on the Team Roadracingworld.com Suzuki GSX-R600. Over in GT2 Barrett Long took the pole position on the KRM Racing by Motocorse Ducati PS1000LE after he was only asked to ride this morning!

Fall Cycle Scene Kicks off This Weekend at Daytona International Speedway

It will also see the 4th Annual 8 Hours At Daytona on Saturday, 17 October. Next comes the final race of the AMA Pro Moto-GT series and one championship, GT2, will be decided on Sunday. Additionally, on Sunday, we will see the AMA Pro SuperSport Shootout, which will decide the best from the East and West divisions. Another race weekend worth watching!

Triumph's Daytona 675 Wins AMA Moto-GT1 Class

Crozier Motorsports has taken two wins and three second places on their way to taking the Triumph-owned Daytona 675 to the championship in the AMA Moto-GT1 class. They had a second place finish to the 2007 season and then only ran select races in 2008. But, this year they managed to take it all the way to the top!

Small Racing Team Does it Their Own Way - Moto-GT

Out of Augusta, Georgia in the southeastern US, the Augusta Triumph/Ducati team works very hard to be competitive in the series in which they race. They work a little differently than your average US roadracing team, but they get it done! Their Moto-GT1 rider Mark Crozier took the overall points lead at the penultimate round in New Jersey. Mat Mladin will start from the pole in his final race in AMA ever. And, Jason DiSalvo will be leading the Daytona SportBike race on Sunday. As for Moto-GT, the Yamaha of Westby Racing will lead the pack.

In Moto-GT, Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati Hopes for 3rd Championship

The NJMP round of the AMA Pro Racing Moto-GT series is the second-to-last race of their season. Ducshop has won the series (under different management) in the previous two years and they believe they can wrap it up for 2009 this weekend in New Jersey.

AMA Pro Racing Finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park

This is it! The final championships will be decided this weekend in Millville, NJ. September 4 thru 6, 2009 will see the AMA make the trip to NJMP to crown Daytona SportBike and AMA Pro SuperSport champions; and, it will be the penultimate round of Moto-GT. Six full races over the weekend!
