Inaugural Race of Inaugural OMA Race Series in Tennessee
The new Off-Road Motorcycle and ATV Winter Nationals series, presented by Parts Unlimited, had its first race near Hanging Limb, Tennessee. Local rider Jordan Ashburn impressed everyone by taking the first win of the series. Chase Bishop and Jeremy Ott took second and third, respectively. Over in the Open A class, Shane O'Banion won the event decisively - on a borrowed KTM 300XC-W - what skill and luck!

Michael Phillips Wins at NHRA Mid-South Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park
The main events were delayed due to some rather nasty rain, but the rain did not dampen spirits at the event. After six years without a win, Phillips' Suzuki took the win away from Eddie Krawiec's Harley-Davidson. He was quite happy and so were the fans - people love the underdog!

From NHRA Mid-South Nationals in Memphis
It seems that Hector Arana will have the top position in the Pro Stock Motorcycle NHRA races for today. He took the top spot by piloting his Lucas Oil Buell to 6.851 seconds at 195.03 mph in the quarter-mile, which is the fastest time in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle history! If he can run it less than 6.919 seconds, he will claim a new e.t. record run.

"Tail of the Dragon" Will Receive Increased Police Patrols
The North Carolina end of the tail will be patrolled more often by local authorities in an attempt to increase safety. This is not termed as a 'crack down' on motorcyclists...just a hope to make the ride a bit less dangerous.
