2010 Ducati Streetfighter versus 2008 Benelli TnT 1130
Ducati versus Benelli - a huge company up against what is essentially a boutique bike maker - and the Streetfighter comes out on top. We could all expect that outcome, but the Benelli offers plenty that the Ducati cannot offer. But, with large production facilities come lower overall prices on components, so Ducati can produce a motorcycle which is cheaper and better equipped than the small Benelli concern can possibly match. The TnT 1130 does shine rather well when it is up against something back as strongly as the Ducati.

Just In Case You Missed These - Motorcycle Recalls In October
The list consists of Ducati, BMW, Triumph and ZERO Motorcycles. Ducati is recalling the 2009 1098R and 1198S and the 2010 Streetfighter. And, BMW is asking customers to bring in their 2009 K1300GT and K1300S for electrical issues. Triumph is recalling its Sprint ST1050 from model years 2005-2009 for a suspension link issue. And, finally, ZERO Motorcycles has some trouble with the 2009 Zero X and Zero MX and the throttles sticking open. So, check what you own and if it is on this list, take care of it soon!

P.S. Yes, some of these have been posted before, but this being a safety issue, it not a bad thing to double-up.

Bob Parsons of GoDaddy.com Receives Ducati Streetfighter Cake for His Wedding
This is certainly news of the odd, but here goes. The Food Network show 'Ace of Cakes' prepared a full-size and even slightly functional Ducati Streetfighter cake to the CEO of GoDaddy.com who was married this past weekend. The lights, ignition key and horn all worked! Have a look at something you and I will probably never have; we can buy the motorcycle, but don't ask how much that cake cost to make!

A Streetfighter Shoot-out - Aprilia vs. Buell vs. Ducati
Since the release of the Ducati Streetfighter, there have been many comparison reviews between it and its competition. This version has it up against the Buell 1125CR and the 2009 Aprilia Tuono. Soon, though, at least part of this test will be useless as Aprilia will soon launch a RSV4- based Tuono. The outcome of this author's review may surprise you!

See the Ducati Streetfighter Launch at Ascari
Here is another video of a Ducati...However, this is a very cool - Hi-Def - ride around the Ascari Race Resort in Ronda, Spain on Ducati's new Streetfighter. Whether you like Ducati, the Streetfighter, race tracks, or not, you should like this well-produced video...watch the sound, though, as Megadeth provides the soundtrack.

Can You Believe This...Ducati's Streetfighter has Won 3 Awards +
Again, I am amazed at how this machine - which is practically brand new (it started to sell back in April/May) - can win awards. It actually won the "Most Beautiful" award at EICMA last year. Sorry you Ducatisti, but this bike is no looker; the 1098/1198 is far more beautiful and Aprilia's RSV-4 is even more gorgeous still! They do say, whomever 'they' are, that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but this is a styling letdown, in my opinion. Just look at all those exposed plumbing...
Perhaps its riding impression is very strong since Ducati did not 'de-tune' the 1098 engine that it placed in its frame...I cannot say as of yet.
Anyway, here is the article from the Examiner: http://tinyurl.com/lccmgq

Aprilia's Tuono...now with V4!
Those of us who have a passion for anything with two wheels often have preferences for certain types of motorcycles...I have developed a special place in my heart for so-called 'streetfighters' and I just cannot seem to stay away from them. (My current ride - the Brutale - is the epitome of standards.) However, Aprilia is also known for doing great things when taking a pure-bred sportbike engine and putting it into a bike you can ride sitting up (almost straight). The Tuono took the world by storm when it was first issued in 2002 (when the first limited 'R' model was introduced)...and even I have had a ride on a Factory model and came away very impressed.
For 2010, though, Aprilia will be putting a new engine into the bike - from the awesome, Cycle World 10 Best winning, jaw-dropping new RSV-4 - and making some other timely updates. Unfortunately, the details of the project are not yet available...but Motor Cycle News has some exclusive photos...have a look! (watch out for the drool on your keyboard.)
