MCN (UK) Bike of the Year Announced - 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1

That's right, after looking at all of the evidence - race victories, new technology, how well the bike performs against its peers - the expert panel of judges announced the 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 is the MCN Bike of the Year. It was also awarded Best Sportsbike over 601c.c. from the same panel. Yamaha took a risk by producing the 'crossplane' crankshaft and it really paid off - if you have not heard one or ridden one, you owe it to yourself to get out and try the R1 - you will be impressed.
