Monday Afternoon Moto News - Luca Scassa & Guy Martin

Italian rider Luca Scassa has now joined with the Supersonic Ducati team to ride in his second year of the World Superbike Championship. Scassa rode for Kawasaki in 2009 WSBK, but only pulled in a 29th overall position. Given his ability with Italian machines (he has raced for MV Agusta previously), he should be able to improve on his 2009 numbers in 2010!

Guy Martin and Wilson-Craig-Racing have signed on to use LeoVince racing exhausts for their assault on the various 'real roads' and other races they will compete in during 2010. The Isle of Man TT, though, is probably Martin's direct concern and the LeoVince bits they used in 2009 did very well for the team. As is well-known, Martin is a very hands-on type of guy, so this decision is most certainly one which he approves of.

Thursday Morning Moto News - Luca Scassa, Motus & TZ Tribute R1

We are hearing that Luca Scassa - an up and coming Italian racer who has contested both Italian championships and AMA Pro Racing seasons - has joined a team known as Team Supersonic. They have their hands on Noriyuki Haga's 2009 Ducati 1198 machines, and they are planning to join the World Superbike Championship in 2011, but they may start in 2010 at the first European round...we will soon see.

How about another close - even closer - look at the new Motus Motorcycles MST 1650c.c. Sport Tourer? Well, Cycle World has provided us with one. They may be on to something very good with their new technology approach. I sure hope we get to ride that MST very soon!

And, this one just has to be posted. I read about this custom, one-off build to honor the old TZ dirt trackers (see Kenny Roberts, Sr.). It's all done by Gregg's Customs and they did an awesome job on it! It is light, powerful, great handling and well-built - and it has 160 HP on tap! This is an awesome machine!

Saturday Morning Race News from the Moto World

This morning we will start with another Supercross interview. This time we are listening to Ryan Dungey of Suzuki's factory team. He is a very young person to be their top rider in the 2010 AMA Supercross Championship, but he has the credentials to be where he is with two championship seasons in the same year - in 2009 - keeping him on a hot streak. He will be graduating to the 450c.c. class this season and this interview with him was done ahead of the Anaheim 1 round.

We also have another very good story about a racer having to make a decision - Luca Scassa. He finished his first ever full year in the World Superbike Championship with only 11 points and he wants to do much better in 2010. It was a learning year, after all. He now has offers from two teams and must choose...
