Tuesday Morning News from the Moto World - Part 1

There are several interesting stories running around the web today...

First, we have a rare sportbike - or, at least a well-done replica or two of some rare machines. There is a MV 500/4 and a Vincent Egli - both built by the owner down in Australia. Take a look - you may not be able to afford them, but they are sure nice to look over in detail...

And, now we get something from Claudio Castiglioni, President of MV Agusta, on raising the speed limits in Italy. I can see why he would want this, but I doubt the Italian government will see it as a safe move. After all, MV Agusta motorcycles are meant to be ridden fast...

Now, another race in the NZ Tri-Series has been run and the final winners lauded and awarded. In the F1 Superbike class, Andrew Stroud took the title. The two Italians - Gozzini and Lazzarini - both fought hard for the title with Gozzini coming out on top. For the rest of the results, please take the link.

Sunday Afternoon News from the Moto World

Well, the news has been very slow lately. All that seems to be popping up here and there are re-hashed stories from the last week or so. I have some news here, but not much. Take a look at the links below and enjoy what little new information we now have...

First, there is the sad news that Donington Park has yet to attract a buyer. We have no way of knowing what will happen to the circuit. It is in a state of disrepair was they were working to improve the track when old-troll Bernie Ecclestone withdrew from his Formula 1 contract with the owners.

Round two of the Suzuki Tri-Series is now in the books, and it was Italian stars who lit up the track on Boxing Day. Davide Gozzini and Ivan Lazzarini dominated the event and stunned the local crowd with their performances. They took first and second, respectively, in each of three races! This was their first trip to the Wanganui Cemetery Circuit.

P.S. You may or may not have noticed that on Christmas Eve I lost a post. I am not sure what caused the loss, but there were about four or five stories there. I apologize for that, but there was no way for me to bring it all back and do another post, unfortunately. This new format is a challenge, but I hope it will make things easier on the blog.

New Zealand Tri-Series Manfield Results

Not much news floating around the Internet recently - must be the holidays. We do, however, have some results from the first event in the New Zealand Tri-Series, which took place this past Saturday at Manfield. Seems that Craig Shirriffs and his teammate, Hayden Fitzgerald, dominated the event on their Castrol Honda CBR1000RRs - both placed first and second in the F1 Superbike class. Suzuki GSX-R1000 mounted Ray Clee rounded out the podium. For the rest of the days results, take the link. The next round will be on 26 December 2009 at Wanganui Cemetery Circuit.

New Zealand Tri-Series Begins Tomorrow - One Aussie Contingent Ready

The Gold Coast riders Joel Reed and Paul Gaston have made it to Kiwi land and actually managed to get some practice laps on the Wanganui's Cemetery Circuit. After the early arrival and the time around the track they will be racing on tomorrow, they feel that they are ready to tackle it. Of course, it will not be easy, and they are very aware of that fact.
