More Afternoon Moto News - Dainese, Pro Italia & 2010 Versys

Dainese has had a release event for their 2010 line-up of clothing and AGV helmets. The US event was held at the Dainese D-Store in Costa Mesa, California. Though there is little after the link, at least you get an introduction to their new products.

Specific to the D-Air, which was also released: http://tinyurl.com/ybm8a2b

It is on the home page now, but I am not sure for how long. Pro Italia, down in Los Angeles, will be hosting a fund-raiser for Haiti relief. It is a bike wash, a Q&A with local motorcycle police officer John Morena, and a talk with Bill Oberman about customizing your motorcycle. The seminars happen this Sunday (31 January 2010) at 13:00 at their Los Angeles shop. The bike wash will actually be held for the next three weekends and will benefit the Maison Fortune Orphanage Foundation.

And, a nice report on the 2010 Kawasaki Versys comes to us courtesy of MCN (UK). It is simply an early report from the test taking place in Sardinia - yes, Sardinia. Have a read. It's short but very informative.

More Information About Kawasaki's 2010 Versys

This actually comes courtesy of MCN (UK). Kawasaki USA has now released more photos and some technical specifications of the 2010 Versys. It has been updated in some significant ways, so you would do yourself right by taking the link to see more of this very cool motorcycle.

First Look: 2010 - Revamped - Kawasaki Versys

The motorcycle which has won many accolades from the moto press, including a "Motorcycle of the Year" award, is back and better than before. The 2010 Kawasaki Versys has new bodywork, less engine vibration, new headlight and much more. It looks as if Kawasaki is really working hard to gain more of the adventure touring market...and they probably will! Don't forget that this is the same basis as the Ninja 650R and the ER-6n, which are also both updated for 2010.

2010 Kawasaki ER-6n - A Great Beginner (and Even Expert) Motorcycle

OK, so you may wonder why I called it an 'expert' motorcycle - or, at least, I think it is a good bike for expert motorcyclists. This bike shares the friendly nature of the Ninja 650R and the Versys, and it has the very smooth 649c.c. engine which powers those. So, it does not matter if you are a newbie or someone who has been riding for 30 years - this motorcycle is fun, handles well, and makes carving backroad canyons as easy as walking to your mailbox. See, an 'expert' motorcyclist will still enjoy all of that - and they don't have to compensate for a bike which is over-powered or too stiffly sprung. A newbie will just enjoy the ease of use, the great fuel mileage and the same factor which would drive any motorcyclist to like it - the GRIN factor!

Riding the 2010 Kawasaki Versys in Historic Japan

Talk about an introduction to Japanese culture - the author almost ended up in jail (well, not really). The Versys is a very good companion on a road going journey. It is designed for that and it shows. The trip takes the rider through some of the most beautiful and historic areas of Japan and you get to go along with him and enjoy it as well...

Kawsaki Updates Z1000 for 2010 + Versys First Look

The all-new 2010 Kawasaki Z1000 will certainly turn some heads. The styling is very angular and even European-looking - which, of course, is the main competitor in the 'naked' category. It also has a larger, and completely clean-sheet, engine which displaces 1043c.c. and a new frame which is said to make handling far superior to the previous incarnation.

The Versys has only received some updates and most of them are directed at smoothing out the engine vibes.
