MORE Afternoon Moto News - Trey Canard & AMA Arenacross

On the Honda AMA Supercross team, GEICO Powersports Honda West Series Lites rider Trey Canard will fill in for Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short at select Supercross races. Short was injured at the San Diego round and will be out for at least six weeks. So, Canard's experience and close ties to the team allowed him to take the available seat on the CRF450R. So many injuries now...Let's wish Canard Good Luck!

Tyler Bowers has six victories in eight races, with five of them consecutive, in the 2010 AMA Arenacross series. His Kawasaki has been rock solid through the five rounds so far (some are double-headers) and will be in fine shape for the next round in Youngstown, Ohio, in Covellie Centre. Barrows is the man to beat in the premier class, but there are three local guys who will give him a very hard time at this round...

The AHRMA has just released their schedule of events for the 2010 Daytona Bike Week event in Florida. The event will be held 26 February to 6 March. The list of events is rather interesting as it spreads the AHRMA events over the entire week; that means that, if you want to see them all, you have to be there all week. So, make your plans to attend now; though, it may be too late to get local accommodations...

They are already aware of their status as you can tell by the name (which is just not right, somehow) - maybe the owner has a huge ego? The Legendary Buffalo Chip is getting ready for the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. It is the 70th anniversary (just like the H-D 100th, it is not completely true), so there will be a huge line-up. Even More Wednesday Moto News - Jeremy McGrath and AMA Arenacross

The Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and Jeremy McGrath are continuing their relationship with the MMI/Jeremy McGrath Scholarship program. Applications are now being accepted for a chance to get at the scholarship - three will be given out of a US$20,000 fund. The winner will be announced at the Las Vegas finale of the AMA Supercross series on 8 May 2010.

2010 Amateur National Arenacross Championships

For starters, the winner of the Arenacross Championship will now be recognized by an official AMA National Champion. Next, the first event will be held in Las Vegas on 11 October 2009. The Amateur National Arenacross Championships - the final event of the season where the top four riders from five regions will compete - has been moved to Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium on 9 May 2010.

2010 AMA Arenacross Schedule Released by Feld Motor Sports

The schedule features 13 events (12 points races, 1 pre-season) - including 6 NEW cities - with a finale in Denver, Colorado. The pre-season race will take place at the Wells-Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA from 7 to 8 November 2009.
