At the Sturgis rally this year a photographer well-known in the custom world, Michael Lichter, will be putting on a show at the Buffalo Chip Campground; he calls it the Eternal Combustion 30 in the Wind. There will be 30 custom bikes on display from the nations best builders, and a huge selection of Lichter's photographs will also be displayed. To be fair, there are some great bikes in this group - not as many repli-choppers as you might expect - so take the time to stop by and enjoy the views...

The AMA Arenacross series will be returning to Kansas City for its fourth round this coming weekend. It is shaping up to be a competitive season in the Championship; well, except for Kawasaki’s Tyler Bowers who is dominating the racing so far this year. For more details, you know what to do...

The AHRMA has just released their schedule of events for the 2010 Daytona Bike Week event in Florida. The event will be held 26 February to 6 March. The list of events is rather interesting as it spreads the AHRMA events over the entire week; that means that, if you want to see them all, you have to be there all week. So, make your plans to attend now; though, it may be too late to get local accommodations...

They are already aware of their status as you can tell by the name (which is just not right, somehow) - maybe the owner has a huge ego? The Legendary Buffalo Chip is getting ready for the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. It is the 70th anniversary (just like the H-D 100th, it is not completely true), so there will be a huge line-up. For all of that information, take the link.

South Dakota Riders Ignore Motorcycle Safety and Pay With Their Lives
This news comes from a South Dakota newspaper and it is very disheartening to hear. When will these riders learn that they need to take responsibility for their own safety? Probably once they end up in a vegetative state after their next accident - problem is, that will be too late! It really is no wonder that cagers support helmet laws - some riders just have no common sense.
HISSES to news that the first-ever South Dakota survey on motorcycle helmet use showed such poor results. Only about a third of motorcycle riders in the state use helmets, according to the survey conducted by the state Office of Highway Safety. We aren’t really surprised by such news, but we’ll hope the number rises in future surveys. Yes, we understand the idea of personal freedoms and such, but helmets can truly help reduce injury in motorcycle mishaps. For the record, state law requires riders 17 and younger to wear a helmet when on a motorcycle.

Sturgis Rally Brings 400,000 to South Dakota!
Even if the economy is still in bad shape, it did not have much of an effect on Sturgis this year. It was a real boon for South Dakota's economy. Though, some people cannot believe the news - yes, around 400,000 people attended the rally!
