Maria Costello Dominates Vintage Racing in America

This is late, again...no excuses, but a significant list of reasons.

Maria Costello receives the MBE from Prince Charles

Maria Costello took the AHRMA by storm at two events - Barber Motorsports Park and Daytona. The first is the annual Barber Vintage Festival where Costello took two wins and one second place, and the next was a round at the Daytona Speedway where she picked up two more wins. This was a second trip across the Pond for the talented racer as she was invited here last year, too. Chance are, she will be here again...I only hope I get to see her race.

Schwantz School Announces 2010 School Schedule

Based at the lovely Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, the Schwatntz School is one of the better motorcycle riding schools on the planet. A Timeless Ride: 1927 Scott Flying Squirrel

Richard Backus of Motorcycle Classics actually was asked to ride an 82 year old motorcycle at the Barber Vintage Festival. The owner of the 1927 Scott Flying Squirrel, Mark Scott (yes, it is his real name), ran into the writer at the Barber event and asked if he would want to take a ride. The 498cc 2-stroke water-cooled twin was a very good ride - much smoother than expected for a 8 decade old machine. It was as if it had just rolled of the assembly line...that lucky Backus!

The wonderful Barber Motorsports Park hosted the Barber Vintage Festival this past weekend and it went rather well according to reports online. Today, a Birmingham, Alabama, newspaper has reported on the event for people who were unable to attend...no photos this time, though...

Michelin Crowns Champion Riders on Final Day at Barber Motorsports Park

Michelin also handed out some US$87,500 to the racers - whom use their rubber on their race machines - who were invited to participate. The weather at Barber was not exactly decent racing weather, but the weekend still managed to impress spectators and to settle all nine Grand Championships...

Report from Michelin’s U.S. Motorcycle Championship at Barber Motorsports Park

The invitation-only racing event saw some very interesting racing among the US racers who used Michelin tires during the year. Robert Jensen was the real star of the Saturday racing by winning the Supersport Pro and Superstock Pro Races. First Ever Michelin U.S. Motorcycle Championship to be Held at Barber

Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama will host the invitation-only Michelin event during 3 -4 October - this coming weekend! Over US$87,000 is in the purse for the various championships up for grabs to racers who were invited to attend. Spectators, of course, are very welcome to come and experience the event first-hand! Vesrah Suzuki Takes WERA National Endurance Championship

5th Annual Barber Vintage Festival in October

Out at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, the annual Vintage Festival will be held 9-11 October 2009. Everything vintage motorcycle will be there - races, displays, swap meet, stunt shows, etc. The AHRMA will also hold its racing series during the event. If you have not been to Barber, this is a good time to go!
