More Evening Moto News - Motorcycling Victoria, Davi Millsaps & Brembo

Motorcycling Victoria has just opened their new digs today in the city of Port Melbourne. The Port Phillip Mayor, Cr. Frank O’Connor, was even on hand at the opening. It is an exciting time for the group as they will now have extra space from which to expand their services and capabilities. Nice to see a little more positive news once in a while...

Davi Millsaps had apparently been unknowingly taking a supplement with Creatine in it (it is NOT a banned substance in this or many other sports). This caused the Honda rider some problems with his racing. Now that he is no longer using it he is doing much better. This could lead to a better AMA Supercross season...with so many injured...we will see...

Brembo has announced some serious upgrades to some existing products and some ten new models of motorcycle products. Their new "T-Drive" disc system is sure to impress. Brembo will certainly change some concepts in motorcycle braking - they even have a very cool brake clamp for naked bikes which includes a mount for mirrors and Ducati compatibility. More Afternoon Moto News - Kevin Curtain, AMA Supercross & American Chopper

Australian Kevin Curtain has decided to race a Yamaha in the Australian Formula Xtreme Superstock 600 and Superstock 1000 classes. He was runner-up in both 2005 and 2006 in the World Supersport Championship on a Yamaha YZF-R6, so he has the experience. Curtain will also compete in the WSS round at Phillip Island.

The AMA Supercross event took place over the weekend in San Diego, California. It was a wet race, but one which saw Honda's Davi Millsaps take his first win in two years of racing. Suzuki racer Ryan Dungey does hold on to his lead in the series even after falling some two times in the opening lap. The next event will be 13 February 2010 in Anaheim (third and final visit there).

The Learning Channel has cancelled "American Chopper". The final episode will be this Thursday (11 February 2010) 21:00 EST. Given the legal fight between Paul Teutel Sr. and his son, Paul Teutel Jr., and his constant abuse of his other sons, it seems like the time is right.

Stewart - Again - Wins U.S. Open Supercoss Event

James Stewart, mounted on a San Manuel YamahaYZ-450F, took both motos on the weekend and was crowned champion of the event. Ryan Villopoto and Davi Millsaps, of Kawasaki and Honda respectively, had a great weekend as well - Millsaps went 3-2 and Villopoto did 2-4. In the 85c.c. Mini Invitational, Yamaha's Chris Alldredege took the honors...

Results from 2009 US Open of Supercross - Friday

James Stewart just doesn't slow down...and he won Friday's racing handily. Unfortunately, Ryan Villopoto had to retire from the 20-lap main and did not finish. However, Davi Millsaps managed to come around in second place after chasing down Dan Reardon. Stewart is well on his way to winning this event and making two in a row!
