It is obvious that MV would not want to take too much away from the brilliant Tamburini design - who would? But, this new model is much more advanced than even the most recent version of the previous F4 series. This is only a first look, but it is informative...

The new 2010 Aprilia SXV 5.5 is rolling off the production lines and should be at a dealer near you soon. It is a lovely beast carrying over all the sweet bits from the previous model, but it has also been improved in many areas. The writer of the linked piece really sees it as it is - a Supermoto race machine dressed up in street-bike clothing. It is no secret that one of these will someday take up space in my garage.

More Afternoon Moto News - Granpasso 1200 & MV Agusta

The 2010 Moto Morini Granpasso 1200 is a lovely motorcycle no matter which way you look at it, but is it a good ride? Well, even though the company is struggling - and many rumors continue to say that they have stopped production - it seems that the Italian marque can make some very good bikes. It is unfortunate that the buying public does not see that as the Granpasso 1200 would be a worthy competitor to almost any sport-tourer or adventure motorcycle. If only I could get my hands on one...

In United Kngdom, MV Agusta is holding "The MV Agusta Experience" at the Rockingham national circuit, Corby, Northants. They will have the lusty F4, Brutale 990R and Brutale 1090RR motorcycles on hand for demo rides at the track, and all participants will be entered to win a autographed Giacomo Agostini MV Agusta helmet and shirt. The events take place on three days - 25, 26 & 28 February 2010 (not the best timing given the weather) - so you have three chances at some serious fun!

Mid-Day Thursday News - Christmas Eve Edition

Yep, it's already more than halfway through Christmas Eve now and there is some news...

First of all, the usual drama of Orange County Choppers is getting even more complex. Paul Teutul, Sr., is suing his son over some stock options and it gets more complicated the further you dig. This family is mostly motivated by $$$, though, so this could be more than just a publicity stunt.

An article on the MV Agusta F4-1000R and its stature in the motorcycling world. It is a bike which many dream to own, thus making it a true 'dream machine'. Many feel they are lucky just getting to take one around a track, and it is a bike worthy of that praise.

He is an American who work on the new model with Triumph engineers in the U.K. Considering the impact of this new cruiser in the motorcycle industry, it is a great chance to learn more from a great designer!

There is also a great design idea from Australian Dan Anderson of what he calls the Triumph Bobbeville. It is a customized Bonneville which looks fantastic and really pulls together the post-war bobber movement into out time. The bike is very well built and I bet it would be a great ride!

EICMA: MV Corse Carbon Fiber 2010 MV Agusta F4

It is hard to describe except by saying that the MV Corse group has their minds working overtime to get parts and accessories available for the 2010 MV Agusta F4. The entire model of the 2010 F4 at EICMA was covered in flat-black carbon fiber dressing - the fairing, fenders, tank, and the rest of what would normally be plastic was all carbon fiber. It looks a bit menacing when dressed like this...it was just a demonstration, though, of what is already available for sale from MV Corse.

Lost in Translation? Multistrada 1200 Voted More Beautiful Than MV Agusta F4

Somehow it happened again - the Ducati Multistrada has won in a vote against the other new motorcycles at the EICMA show in Milan based in pure aesthetics. Just like last year's Streetfighter win, this one boggles the mind. Maybe the attendees at the show are coming from an alien world or something? I do agree that the new Multistrada 1200 looks much better than the bike it replaces, but in no way is it more beautiful than the 2010 F4 or even the 2010 Aprilia RSV-4R! Someone should analyze the voting system...

Finally! MV Agusta Launches 2010 MV Agusta F4 Superbike

Well, it has been updated much more than what some of the early press assumed, but it still stays true to the original Tamburini design. The 2010 F4 has lost 22 pounds (great news!), received chassis updates, and gets 186 horsepower from the radial valve, inline-four engine. Other additions are traction control, standard variable-length intake manifolds, a top-notch ECU controlling 8 fuel injectors, multiple engine control maps, Brembo monobloc calipers, and much more. The classic organ-pipe exhaust has been squared off, though, but the design itself still screams MV Agusta!

Nifty Restoration of Damaged MV Agusta F4-1000

The devil is in the details - so says an old pearl of wisdom. In this case, it appears that the details are the highlight of the devil - the devil being the MV Agusta F4. It is a mean machine, though not exactly evil to the owner, at least. The Garage Endeavors team were given a 'slightly worn' F4-1000 and took to working on the bike - the changes are hard to spot if you are not familiar with the build: carbon fiber fuel tank, special rearsets, lighting changes, and the most interesting customization is the easily switchable tail section; it can be easily changed to mono- or biposto in a few minutes. Have a look - and look close...
