More Thursday Morning Moto Racing News - Kawasaki, Donington and Lowry

MSS Colchester Kawasaki has signed 22-year-old Howie Mainwaring for the 2010 BSB National Superstock Championship. He has a great deal of experience in other BSB series and had good results. With his new team, though, he now has factory backing. That makes him dangerous - in a good way! The Superstock series is full of top-notch talent and you will not want to miss the 2010 season - it will be tough.

Now we hear from the owner of Donington Park, Kevin Wheatcroft, that he is hoping to have the lease sold to someone new by the end of January 2010. That would be good news, and I very much hope he is right, as the track is close to being in the past-tense. They already have a short list (14) of entities interested, so it just might happen!

Ian Lowry may have finally found a home for the 2010 British Superbike Championship at Hydrex Honda - joining fellow racer Stuart Easton. Since Relentless Suzuki has already solidified their team, he has no choice but to look elsewhere and this team is a very good match for his talent.

Results from Macau 43rd Motorcycle Grand Prix

There is not story here - I will add that when I find something worth posting. The results are here, though, and Honda-mounted Stuart Easton took the event in a close race with Conor Cummins, whose Kawasaki came in second. Behind them was Ian Hutchinson in third on another Kawasaki; and, Gary Johnson and Rico Penzkofer made up the top five.

Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix Update from Friday

Stuart Easton held on to his pole position through qualifying, so he will start from the first spot on the grid in tomorrow's Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. Following him into second is Conor Cummins; third is Michael Rutter; and in the last spot on the front row will be Ian Hutchinson. Another good day for Kawasaki, and a solid performance from the Hydrex Honda team as well!

More News from Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix - Happening Now

It is true - the Macau Motorcycle GP is going on this weekend - it actually started back on Thursday, officially. Stuart Easton is at the top of the time sheets, but fellow countryman Simon Andrews is having some trouble adjusting to real roads racing; it is highly dangerous and different from being on a track. He ended the day in 28th position...but, it's not over yet...

At Macau Grand Prix - Stuart Easton Takes Provisional Pole

On his Hydrex IGT Honda CBR1000RR, Easton ran the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix circuit faster than anyone has before on his way to capturing the provisional pole position for the main event this Saturday. The final qualifying practice will be held tomorrow. In provisional second and third place are Michael Rutter's Kawasaki and Ian Hutchinson's Kawasaki - Kawasaki had a good day at the event! Karl Harris is Convinced He will be Riding in British Superbike in 2010

Harris did not have the best racing year in 2009 - he rode for three different teams and only managed 14th place in the overall standings. Since he has been Supersport champion, perhaps this was just a downturn and he will improve with practice over the off-season. It is no matter to him as he is convinced that he will be on the BSB grid in 2010.

Easton will continue with the Hydrex Honda team in the British Superbike Championship for 2010. This has not been openly confirmed yet, but this does seem to put to rest the rumor that Easton will ride in the World Supersport series on a Kawasaki. Finally! Race Results from Sunday's Oulton Park BSB Rounds

Leon Camier could not get it done in race 1 on Saturday, but he sure made up for it on Sunday at Oulton Park. He took both race victories and brought his total to 19 wins on the 2009 season of the British Superbike Championship. The usual suspects filled out the podium in both races: Stuart Easton, James Ellison, Tommy Hill and Josh Brookes. It was an incredible weekend...if only they broadcast to the US...
