2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Coming to US Dealers This Weekend

According to several reports, Ducati will have their 2010 Hypermotard 796 in its US dealerships by this weekend (18 - 20 December 2009, in case you do not see the date at the end of this post). That means that it will be available just in time for Christmas - but, it missed Hanukkah. No matter your faith, your motorcycle passion can be fulfilled by heading out to your local Ducati shop today or tomorrow.

Ducati is also giving details on the 2010 Hypermotard 796 & 1100, the Monster models, new livery for the 1198, and - of course - the Multistrada 1200. Ducati to Improve Hypermotard 1100 for 2010

They say that the Hypermotard 796 was just a warm-up of sorts - to the public, at least - for the 2010 Hypermotard 1100. If you looked closely at the 796 you would have seen some interesting design differences between it and the current Hypermotard 1100 model. The 796 even handled better than the 1100. That will change when Ducati releases the 2010 1100 model at EICMA in Milan as the new model has improved frame for strength, more power, and better handlebars among other changes...

First Ride: 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796

MCN (UK) has a man in Bologna, Italy, running around on the new Hypermotard 796 and reporting back as to what its like. Apparently, it is not just a Monster 696 engine which has been bored-out; it is derived from that engine, but it is mostly an all new engine for this machine and it is actually 803c.c. in displacement. So far, the bike is much easier to ride than the 1100 version and is more friendly for new riders since it is lower, smaller and lighter. Ducati Confirms Hypermotard 796

The rumors were true; Ducati is releasing its downsized version of the Hypermotard, the 796. It will arrive in showrooms in December of 2009, and has an enlarged version of the Monster 696 engine. Now, if we could get more information about their proposed cruiser model...
