Thursday Afternoon Moto News - R&G Racing and BMW & Triumph 20th Anniversary

Crash protection specialists R&G Racing will be providing the crash protection for Keith Code's California Superbike School's BMW S1000RR machines. Well, it's the 20th anniversary of the re-born Triumph on 18 September 2010 and it will be celebrated in proper style at Mallory Park. The call it Triumph Live and tickets are already on sale. They will also open the doors of the Triumph factory, which is only eight miles (~13 Km) away from the circuit. Tuesday Morning Moto News - SA Superbike, Masterbike & Thundersport GB

They actually refer to it as the 2010 South African Motorcycle championship, but it is the premier motorcycle road-race series in South Africa. This coming weekend will mark races three and four at the Western Cape Killarney circuit. Currently, Sheridan Morais and Lance Isaacs are tied in the points for first in the Superbike class. In Supersport 600 racing, Ronan Quarmby has the overall lead. For all the details, you know what to do!

The BMW S1000RR has wiped the rest of the competition off of the circuit at the annual Masterbike shootout which takes place in Spain every year. The BMW went up against all of the top liter-class sportbikes from Europe and Japan as well as the 1200cc V-Twins - and it smashed them all. The Thundersport GB season kicks off this coming weekend (12 - 14 March 2010) at Mallory Park in the UK. Many of the teams were out practicing this pas weekend at the same venue - as well as racing on Sunday in a local series. Thursday Afternoon and the Moto News Keeps Coming

Freddie Spencer will be returning to racing at Mallory Park in the U.K. He is not going back to it full time, though. Spencer is the first big name to be announced by the Vintage Motorcycle Club to attend their Festival of 1000 Bikes which takes place in July 2010. Tommy Hill Testing His New Worx Crescent Suzuki

Hill was at Mallory Park this week for a day of testing aboard the Worx Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000. It was rather necessary as he finished the season on a Honda CBR1000RR. The weather was not great, but Hill managed to get comfortable on the bike and turn in some decent lap times.

Britain's Thundersport GB Releases 2010 Provisional Calendar

For the 2010, the Thudersport GB series will have 10 race weekends and 2 pre-season tests and licensing courses. The entry forms are also available for downloading and submittal. So, this is the third year of the series - and the second year was quite successful - and there will be participants from at least 8 nations. The series is a true up-and-coming championship, so try to catch at least one of the events...

Leon Haslam Will Race in Rallycross Event at Mallory Park

He will be taking his skills to the four-wheel racing world on 18 October at Mallory Park in the Mirror.co.uk Kumho Tyres MSA British Rallycross Championship. This is part of his new signing with Alstare Suzuki - and it's good fun! He will return to his Honda ride in the World Superbike Championship the following weekend in Portugal.

Richard Cooper Will Ride in BSB Silverstone Round

Cooper only sits 8 points back of John McGuinness in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship standings, so he has a chance to improve on that and move forward if he does as well this weekend as he did Mallory Park. He is back from a ride on the WSBK BMW team, where he replaced injured rider Ruben Xaus.
