World Ducati Week Information Released

Well, one of the first posts I put here was about WDW, which will be held at the Misano World Circuit during 10 - 13 June 2010. Ducati has just released an update to the event, so you should probably go and check it out - especially if you can somehow get there to experience it!

Aprilia's WSBK Testing Hampered by Bad Weather

Aprilia's World Superbike squad had thought they would benefit from some extra testing at the Misano track. Well, it didn't work out exactly like that. Turns out that Nature had something to say about it and sent in some storms to slow things down. Still, even though Leon Camier is not able to turn in any real hot laps on the RSV-4, he is still very likely to be suiting up next to Biaggi in 2010.

Leon Camier Testing Aprilia RSV-4 at Misano

Camier is still rumored to be replacing Nakano on the factory Aprilia team for 2010, but no confirmation has been given yet. It does seem more likely now that he is over in Misano testing the RSV-4. So, Aprilia, when are you going to tell us who will be on your team for next season's WSBK season? We all are aware that Camier will be a real threat in any superbike series!

Ducati UK and New Era Motorcycle Club Launch 848 Challenge

This will be a new race series based primarily in the U.K., but also run on two European tracks. Eight rounds in total will make up the series - most with double-header weekends - and four of the circuits in the 848 Challenge will be world championship tracks. All racers will ride essentially identical Ducati 848 motorcycles; only the fairing, tires and exhaust may be modified. In the U.K., you can purchase a 848 from your local dealer and you will be given a Ducati Corse Riding Gear Set worth over £2,000. Check it out! I wish I could enter...

Details Announced for World Ducati Week

World Ducati Week will be held 10 - 13 June 2010 at the Italian Misano World Circuit as per usual. This will be the first time in two years (thanks to the world economy) that the event has been held and Ducatisti will finally be appeased in 2010. The usual event schedule will be presented, so expect some serious fun and fantasy all in one place - Italy!

MotoGP 2010 Dates Could be Altered Dramatically

It seems that there are a few conflicts with Formula 1 events next season which may require Dorna to change several race dates in 2010. There is a rumor that Silverstone may switch dates with Laguna Seca; Misano may be moved as it is in conflict with the Italian F1 race at Monza. All of this is just speculation at this point, but you might have to change your 2010 MotoGP travel plans...stay tuned.

Kallio's Replacement at Pramac Racing, Espargaro Impressive

He had absolutely no experience with the Ducati Desmosedici, but he still managed to surprise fans. Aleix Espargaro, riding on Kallio's bike, managed a strong eleventh position at Misano. That is impressive!

Rossi Wins at San Marino Grand Prix!

Well, I chose my Fantasy MotoGP with Rossi winning this race and I was - fortunately - correct. The nasty part of this race was the first lap start, though, where Hayden, Edwards and de Angelis crashed together. Rossi's teammate Lorenzo took second with Pedrosa rounding our the podium.

Hector Barbera Takes Victory in 250 Class at Misano

Barbera managed to get past fellow Aprilia rider Mattia Pasini after a hot battle at the front for the final half of the race. Simoncelli had been up there with them until he crashed out on lap 13. So, it is an Aprilia 1-2-3 for the 250 results at the San Marino Grand Prix, and it was a close finish.

Julian Simon Increases Lead in 125 GP with Misano Win

Simon has a comfortable lead in the 125 championship after taking the win at the San Marino GP. Unfortunately, this comes to him courtesy of a fall from race leaders Iannone and Espargaro in the last turn.

Ducati Riders Hayden and Kallio Look to Perform Well at Misano

The teammates placed well in the qualifying today and look in good enough form to fight for the podium at the San Marino Grand Prix. I expect we will see some very good racing this weekend as it is Ducati's home field.

Rossi on Pole for San Marino Grand Prix

Rossi managed to turn a hot lap and take the pole from Pedrosa at Misano today. Rossi's Fiat Yamaha teammate Lorenzo will start the race from third position.

Bradley Smith on Pole for 125 Race at Misano

Bradley Smith managed to snatch his pole position from Julian Simon at the San Marino GP today. He turned in a very impressive performance, but Simon was right behind him and only .016 seconds off the pace.

Hiroshi Aoyama Takes First Pole of Year - Misano

In the 250 qualifying, Aoyama finally managed to secure pole position for 2009. He has been near and at the front almost all season, but at the San Marino Grand Prix he will have a chance to lead from the start.

Colin Edwards Certain to Stay at Tech 3 Yamaha

After today's practice at the Misano circuit, Colin Edwards was his usual talkative self. That is fortunate for those of us watching the MotoGP riders' circus for 2010. He says that Yamaha wants to keep him and that all that remains is for the details to be worked out and a contract signed. I hope he is right - the Texas Tornado belongs in MotoGP!
