We sort of knew it was coming, but it is finally official. Kawasaki will not run a factory race team in any of the DMG / AMA Pro Racing series for 2010. They blame the economy - which makes perfect sense given their recent financial reports - but I am sure it is also the DMG rules situation. Anyway, another one bites the dust...

Results from 2009 AMA Pro SuperSport Shootout
Well, local rider Josh Day may have qualified on pole for the race, but he was passed on the last lap on the final corner by Leandro Mercado - all of 17 years-old. He took the title and the SuperSport National Championship #1 plate. The Attack Kawasaki rider was out of action for much of the season due to the ubiquitous US visa issues common among foreign racers, unfortunately. So, for Mercado, this is an incredible accomplishment!
