Finally! MX Sports and AMA Release 2010 WMX Schedule

Funny how this took so long to come to light. I guess it is more to do with them figuring out which rounds of the series the WMX racers will be attached to. I do wish they would come up here near me at Washougal - I would love to see 2009 champion Ashley Fiolek race in person; she is phenomenal. Over US$20,000 Raised for Breast Cancer at Steel City MX

They did very well at Steel City last weekend - no, not the racers, they did well too, but I am speaking of the people who attended the event and raised in excess of US$20,000 for breast cancer research. I hope that this will encourage other race series and motocross venues to do the same. Together, we can work for the cure!

Ashley Fiolek Inspires Athletes of All Kinds

Fiolek, having won her second national title in WMX, visited the Beverly School for the Deaf in Beverly, Massachusetts. Last Wednesday (9 September 2009), she was made very welcome by an enthusiastic crowd at the school and signed autographs and let some students handle her championship gold medal. An absolutely good role model!

Ashley Fiolek Takes WMX Crown at Steel City

I found it, finally. The article at the other end of the link also covers the 250 and 450 AMA Pro Motocross Championship races, but the WMX series only has a paragraph or two - with overall results at the bottom. Fiolek managed a 7th place finish in Moto 1 after crashing near the end and breaking her collarbone - she did not race in Moto 2, but still captured the championship by 5 points!

2009 WMX Holeshot Award Review

As we head to the finale at Steel City, Ashley Fiolek has earned the most holeshot awards this season, but Jessica Patterson has lately come up to challenge her for the lead. How will it all come out this weekend...well, watch the race!
