More Night Moto News - Teka Suzuki & Nelis 1000R

The FIM Motocross World Championship - as well as Belgian and German National events - team of Teka Suzuki has joined forces with Rockstar Energy as a major sponsor in all of their racing. This brings this already strong AMA Motocross pairing of Rockstar and Makita Suzuki (Ryan Dungey) even closer to the Suzuki factory. International sponsorship is incredibly important and has a stabilizing force on a race team. Riders Clement Desalle and Steve Ramon should be able to just worry about racing now. Look for some incredible results from this team thanks to this new deal!

The Nelis 1000R is for sale...what is it, you say? Well, it is a special build using a Suzuki TL1000R engine and some very good custom work. Built by Mathijn Nelis of the Netherlands, with help from well-traveled Nico Bakker, it is ready to go right now. Simply take the link and get the contact details...if you like what you see.

MORE Afternoon Moto News - Jessica Patterson & MotoCzysz in the Movies

Jessica Patterson has now signed with DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing/Yamaha for the 2010 WMA season. Patterson is currently ranked number 2 in the world of women's motocross, so the team has accomplished a real coup to get her on-board their machines. She will be riding on a Yamaha and will most certainly be a factor in every AMA Motocross event this year.

In the upcoming release (maybe remake?) "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps", you will see both a Ducati Desmosedici and the MotoCzysz C1 competing against each other. I am not sure, but even Michael Czysz might make an appearance in the film as he rides the C1 in the film for the movie. For a little more detail and a linked video preview of the film, please take the link.

Evening Moto News - Husqvarna Announces US$11 Million Contingency Program

A significant amount of money - especially considering how little money is out of the hands of Wall Street now - US$11 Million for racing contingency from Husqvarna will be available in 2010. It does seem that BMW is really banking on this marque, and who can complain about that? They make excellent machines. It is huge, so for all of the details, please take the link.

MORE Morning Moto News - Honda MotoGP & Fantasy Motorcycle Racing

Honda has decided that they very much need to capture the MotoGP title very soon! They have not won since Nicky Hayden took the 2006 Championship. They have thus reorganized the team structure to help them get their wish. A new Technical Director has been assigned and each of Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso will be managed separately and the development of the RC212V will be much more focused in 2010. Given Pedrosa's run at last year's title, we should see some interesting developments from the factory Repsol team.

Motorcycle USA has announced that they will be hosting a Fantasy Motorcycle Racing game which includes MotoGP, World Superbike and AMA Motocross - as far as can be seen from the attached article. It's free to use, so what are you waiting for?

Thursday Evening Moto News - Team Suzuki Motocross & Norton Commando Cafe Racer SE

It's actually Team Suzuki City and they have three riders - Steven Clarke and Matt Lemoine competing in the East Coast Lites Supercross series and the AMA Outdoor Lites Championship, and Sherri Cruse will contest the AMA Women's Motocross Championships. The team has been around for three years now and they even have a sponsorship deal with Nitro Circus. 2010 will have good off-road racing as well!

At the MCN London Motorcycle Show - go ahead, guess where it is - the newly constituted Norton released their new 2010 Norton Commando Cafe Racer Special Edition (maybe not correct nomenclature). It is a lovely machine and customers can custom order - changing the finish, suspension, wheels and much more. It is not even all that expensive given the work. Take a look and you will see why this machine would look so good with you on it. Oh, and don't forget to pay attention to the young woman in the background - it's priceless!

More Afternoon Moto News - Ducati Multistrada UK, Motorcycle Cannonball & AMA Motocross

They have also announced that they will also bring along a Multistrada 1200S Touring model to show. That's great news if you are thinking seriously of the up-rated model.

Out of Hot Springs, Arkansas, a press release lets us know that the race will be stopping there for two nights and one day during the cross-country trip on pre-1916 model motorcycles. This is the first of its kind in in US in modern times, so it will be very interesting to follow the progress - who makes it and who breaks down, as well as how well it all works out for everyone. The event will be in Hot Springs during 16 - 18 September 2010.

Grant Langston Returns to Racing!

Phenomenal news here! Langston has some 5 championship titles and had to leave racing due to eye cancer - yes, eye cancer! It was such terrible news, especially coming when it did while he was at the top of the game. Now, his doctor has given him a clean bill of health and he will return to AMA Supercross in January of next year on board a Yamaha and wearing O'NEAL gear.

Rather Talented Motocross Family from Virginia - Ryan and Dillon Smith

The brothers Ryan and Dillon are 15 and 12, respectively, and they are very good motocross athletes. Ryan won the 'triple crown' (450 Open C, Schoolboy I, 250C classes) and Dillon managed to become double champion himself in the 85cc (ages 9 - 11) and the Unlimited Mini (9 - 13) classes. Even their father is stunned, and I guess we all are! Have a read...

Finally! MX Sports and AMA Release 2010 WMX Schedule

Funny how this took so long to come to light. I guess it is more to do with them figuring out which rounds of the series the WMX racers will be attached to. I do wish they would come up here near me at Washougal - I would love to see 2009 champion Ashley Fiolek race in person; she is phenomenal. Anyway, if you are looking for the WMX schedule, take the link.

Ben Townley Signs New Deal to Race AMA Motocross

Townley crashed hard at the Motocross of Nations at Budd’s Creek, Maryland, in September 2007, and he has been recovering pretty much ever since. It was a long way back to health for the New Zealand native. Now he has signed up to ride in the 2010 AMA Motocross season with Troy Lee Designs on a Honda CRF450R. He says he is 100% - let us all hope so!

The deal will support KTM's factory motocross team for the 2010 season. They have worked together before, in the 2009 running of the MDK/KTM Factory Team. AMA Announces 2010 AMA Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross Championship

Yep, a long title, I know. However, it is accurate as the AMA has put forth the numbers for your favorite supercross and motocross riders. Just spend some time reading the rules - it's in English, but it is still a bit of work to get through. I think I would rather let them assign me a number. Anyway, check the list to make your spectating in 2010 much easier.

Results from 2009 Bercy Supercross in France

The event was the 27th Annual Bercy Supercross in Paris. James Stewart easily ran to the front on the first two days, but his Yamaha AMA Motocross teammate, Justin Brayton, took the overall King of Bercy crown from the event. Stewart sat out the third day due to what may have been food poisoning. Home favorite, Frenchman Marvin Musquin, put forward a very strong effort on his KTM.

Chad Reed Signs With Kawasaki for AMA Motocross and Supercross

There were rumors that he was thinking of the signing - especially when he rode a Kawasaki in the Australian Super X series. Well, now Reed will be riding alongside Ryan Villopoto on the Monster Energy Kawasaki team in both the AMA Motocross Championship and the AMA Supercross Championship. This should really shake things up when he goes up against James Stewart and the new Yamaha YZ450F - either way, both series are sure to be very good racing!
