Two off-road racing results today...finally! First up is the Dallas, Texas, round of the 2010 AMA Supercross, which went off this past Saturday (20 March 2010). This was the first time that the Supercross circus stopped in Cowboys stadium and Suzuki's Ryan Dungey made it one to remember. Dungey led every lap from the start and is now 24 points ahead of Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto who finished just off the podium in fourth. The next event is this Saturday in Florida.

In the 2010 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country series, the recent stop was in North Carolina at Steele Creek. The weather started off nice early, but then a steady rain started to drench every square exposed inch. In that event, Suzuki-mounted Josh Strang again took the win. This is his third win in a row! In the XC2 class, Kailub Russell took victory and the series lead in the mountains of North Carolina...for all the details, please take the link.

Mat Mladin, long-time AMA Pro Racing Superbike competitor and multi-time champion, will be auctioning off some of his Rockstar Makita Suzuki gear, most items autographed, for the De Coster's Kids Motivational Program charity. The second round of the 2010 World Superbike Championship is soon to be upon us. It will take place at the now very popular Portimao circuit in Portugal. We now have some race previews popping up ahead of the event. First up is Paul Bird Motorsports Kawasaki; Chris Vermeulen is still injured and is hoping to get fit ahead of the event. Tom Sykes is only hoping to improve on his 13th place at the Phillip Island round.

We also just received news that Makoto Tamada will have a one-off ride on the Reitwagen BMW at the Portimao WSBK round: http://tinyurl.com/yhw6gdm

Brammo to Work With Jackie Chan & AMA Supercross Toronto Results
Jackie Chan's company JCAM Advanced Mobility Company Ltd., based in Hong Kong, has signed up to distribute the Brammo electric motorcycles in Hong Kong and Singapore. The deal is certainly a solid one as Jackie Chan has the star power to really bring in the customers. Plus, both Hong Kong and Singapore are perfect locations for electric motorcycle ownership - both have very little land area and rather tight roads and streets (in HK, you could probably ride the Brammo from one side of the island to the other three times without needing to charge it!) plus they are both very congested and polluted. They should sell very well there...too bad they didn't hire me for the job!

The AMA Supercross event in Toronto was broadcast on TV this weekend and it was a great race. Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto turned in an impressive performance and took the win - putting him even closer to Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey, who still holds the points lead and finished third in Toronto behind Red Bull Honda's Trey Canard. For the details, please take the link.

More Night Moto News - Teka Suzuki & Nelis 1000R
The FIM Motocross World Championship - as well as Belgian and German National events - team of Teka Suzuki has joined forces with Rockstar Energy as a major sponsor in all of their racing. This brings this already strong AMA Motocross pairing of Rockstar and Makita Suzuki (Ryan Dungey) even closer to the Suzuki factory. International sponsorship is incredibly important and has a stabilizing force on a race team. Riders Clement Desalle and Steve Ramon should be able to just worry about racing now. Look for some incredible results from this team thanks to this new deal!

More Afternoon Moto News - Daytona American Superbike Race Results
In the first race of the 2010 AMA Pro Racing American Superbike Championship, a certain rider with a three-year winless drought came through to secure the win - National Guard Suzuki's Jake Zemke. He won in a very close finish; Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Tommy Hayden came in second (only .238 of a second from first place) and Foremost Ducati's Larry Pegram held on for third (just .259 of a second behind Zemke). The finish was actually very close among the top five finishers - only .307 of a second between first and fifth! For all the details, please take the link.

Tuesday Night Moto News - Daytona Bike Week News
There will be many more of these this week, though you may only see a few more here. That is because Daytona Bike Week is the largest festival of its kind in the US. It has the most activities in the shortest time of any rally that I have seen (or known of). So, if you are not able to attend, please take some time and see what you are missing. You may find there is much more to it than the 'Spring Break' type party you may have imagined. The racing alone is worth the trip...Take some of the following links to see if it is worthwhile for your vacation time next year...

MORE Afternoon Moto News - AMA Supercross Results & Ducati Multistrada 1200
The AMA Supercross Championship held a round in Atlanta this past weekend, but I have yet to post any results from the event. So, now I am addressing that oversight and have placed a link to the results below. Suzuki's Ryan Dungey is again in the points lead for the title. He won the race, and his closest competition in the points, Ryan Villopoto crashed hard while trying to catch him. Dungey is in first overall with Josh Hill and Villopoto in second and third.

Well, we will have to buy the weekly in order to get our hands on the full test, but we do have a nice preview available on the MCN (UK) website on the new 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200. They seem to believe that this bike will change its category and motorcycling in general forever. I am not so sure about that, but it may certainly challenge the big players in the adventure motorcycle class - KTM and BMW. At least you can take a look at the preview video and an another article or two on the new machine.

Sunday Afternoon Moto News - Jordan Szoke & Anaheim Supercross
Canadian Superbike racer Jordan Szoke has been chosen as Motorcycle Racer of the Year in the Inside Track Readers' Choice Awards. It's no wonder as he won his fourth straight championship last year, and he is on his way to getting another in 2010. Go and check it out...

And, we have results from the AMA Supercross round at Anaheim this weekend. It is Anaheim 2 as there are two events at the same location. Suzuki-mounted Ryan Dungey took victory in this event and is slowly cementing his name on the Supercross Championship as one of the best. Yamaha man James Stewart finished in third, with Josh Hill taking the second position.

More Sunday Afternoon Moto News - Supercross Results
After waiting a little longer than I thought, we have results from yesterday's Phoenix round of the AMA Supercross. Ryan Dungey captured his first ever Supercross win at the event and Jake Weimer took his second consecutive AMA Supercross Lites Western Regional victory. James Stewart crashed hard in a heat race, but still came back and won his last chance heat race to get a start in the main. The 2010 season is shaping up to be a very hard fought competition between some of the best off-road racers in the world - don't miss another round or you will be sorry!

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Amateur Team Announced
Well, at least this is some good news. The Rockstar Makita Suzuki Amateur Team is getting ready for 2010, and they will be presenting some 16 racers - not bad! They will all be age 10 - 17 and will be completely focused on getting ready to turn pro. I just hope there are some seats open for them to fill when they are ready...

Suzuki Announces Their 2010 AMA Supercross Racing Team
That's what it says, so I am going with it. Suzuki's team will be managed by Roger DeCoster and will consist of Ryan Dungey and the new Australian Supercross Champion, Matt Moss - both will be in the 450c.c. class. Austin Stroupe will race in the Lites class for them - no more details on that at this time. But, as you know, the team will be working much more closely with Yoshimura in 2010.

AMA American Superbike Results from New Jersey Motorsports Park
Here are - late - results from the Sunday American Superbike race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Mat Mladin was not able to win either of his final races in AMA. It doesn't matter much, though, as he still has the 2009 championship! Yamaha's Josh Hayes was the main beneficiary of this weekend's action in the Superbike class.

NJMP Last Race for Mat Mladin...
Mat Mladin is happy to be leaving the current AMA Pro Racing group behind. With the switch to new ownership last year, he has been unhappy with the way they are running the series - he is not alone! Mladin will take his final Championship trophy and go back to Australia. How long do you think he will stay away from racing???
