Knutsford Honda, a rather influential dealer in the UK, will again be the title sponsor for this year's Thundersprint race in Northwich during 8 - 9 May 2010. The dealer has had a great deal of success at the event and is more than happy to be a part of it again this year. Friday Night Moto News - Daytona AMA Pro Racing Update

It was another close finish in the second race of the AMA Pro Racing American Superbike series at Daytona International Speedway. And, Jake Zemke pulled it off again! Two wins, two days. In the world famous Daytona 200 Yamaha notched their dominance of the class with Team Graves rider Josh Herrin taking the victory. I knew this would happen, and you likely did as well; this guy is good. Dane Westby pulled in second place and Ducati 848 rider Steve Rapp rounds out the podium. A past acquaintance, Ricky Orlando finished up in 14th...a solid accomplishment for a privateer effort. Friday Morning Moto News - Jordan Team Colors, John Hopkins & Jake Zemke

The Michael Jordan Motorsports AMA Pro Racing team has revealed the livery they will be using for the 2010 season, which started at Daytona this week. Since it is the 25th anniversary of the Air Jordan franchise, they have gone with silver as the base color. Even riders will be running with special silver boots recognizing the achievement. John Hopkins and John Ulrich are back together for 2010. Well, if you were paying attention, we already knew this. However, many may have forgotten that it was Ulrich who helped turn Hopper into a world-class motorcycle racer. Now Ulrich is running the team which Hopkins is racing for...how has it been having these two back together?

More Afternoon Moto News - Daytona American Superbike Race Results

In the first race of the 2010 AMA Pro Racing American Superbike Championship, a certain rider with a three-year winless drought came through to secure the win - National Guard Suzuki's Jake Zemke. He won in a very close finish; Rockstar/Makita Suzuki's Tommy Hayden came in second (only .238 of a second from first place) and Foremost Ducati's Larry Pegram held on for third (just .259 of a second behind Zemke). The finish was actually very close among the top five finishers - only .307 of a second between first and fifth! For all the details, please take the link.

Friday Night Moto News - Monash University and HART & Jake Zemke

From the southern side of the globe - the relaxed and cool part - we hear that Australia's Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) and Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) are looking for riders (in Oz, obviously) who have been away from riding for five or more years and are just now returning to the sport. They are conducting motorcycle safety research and they will pay you AUS$70 for one hour of your time. Monday Evening Moto News - Jordan to Stay With Suzuki

Michael Jordan Motorsports will continue to ride on Suzuki in the DMG / AMA Pro Racing American Superbike series. They will field both Aaron Yates and Jake Zemke, who will ride the Jordan brand and National Guard sponsored Suzuki GSX-R1000's, respectively. At least there will be some good riders and teams in the series in 2010. I will now certainly watch it with this team and these riders on those machines...

New Year's Day Moto News - First Edition of 2010

First of all Happy New Year! The year has changed again and I am very optimistic that 2010 will be a good year for the motorcycle industry - and I hope it will be great for you as well!

It seems that things have worked out to where Jake Zemke will be riding for Jordan Suzuki in 2010. He will compete in the AMA Pro Racing series, but the exact details have yet to be released. It also appears that Aaron Yates will remain with the team, but they will be letting Geoff May go; this is an odd development as May was always close with the team members. Anyway, it's all un-official for now, so the truth may be completely different.

A big off-road 450c.c. shootout is available from MotorcycleUSA already. I suppose that they had it ready to go when the date changed as I doubt anyone there is working today - almost everything is closed. But, if you would like to see how the 450 dirt motorcycles from the major manufacturers compare to one another, take a look here. Unfortunately, all they were able to test were the offerings from Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha and KTM (Suzuki has shuttered their press department due to the economy!).

Rumor: Ben Bostrom Signs with Pat Clark Motorsports

The rumor is that Bostrom has signed for the Yamaha-supported team of Pat Clark Motorsports to contend in the DMG/AMA Pro Racing American Superbike. The rumor continues with the possibility of both Jake Zemke and John Hopkins joining the same team for 2010. That would mean that Hopper will not be riding in World Superbike as he thought he might next year. Of course, this is only rumor for now, so who knows...
