You will not believe the wonderful, classic and historical items up for sale in this auction. There are plenty of old Hondas, Kawasakis, BSAs, Ariels - and it just goes on! Plus, there are some NOS (New Old Stock) parts available as well. In fact, I have been looking at the auction for about 15 minutes now and I still have not seen all of it yet...go on and have a look!

1956 Triumph T110 Tiger Custom For Sale on eBay
It is a good custom job and it has been done with the engine and frame of the original motorcycle - a 1956 Triumph T110 Tiger. The engine was re-built by legendary tuner Harry Leinweber and was chromed everywhere! The frame was NOT cut for the modifications, just massaged. It even has rubber isolation between engine and frame for less vibration. I am just scratching the surface of what has been done to this machine. It is certainly worth looking into or - if you have any money - purchasing it.

Motorcycle Classics Announces Winner of Honda CB500 Cafe Racer
Dennis Picken of Omaha, Nebraska, is the new owner of a specially prepped 1973 Honda CB500 Four! I entered and I posted on the contest - so, I hope that someone reading this had a chance. Anyway, the bike is being built by the staff at Motorcycle Classics and is not quite done yet - after all, they work a regular day and work on the CB500 in their spare time. However, Mr. Picken will get his new bike after the crew at the magazine finishes their work, takes her for a ride, and then publishes a story on the bike early next year. One lucky ba$tard!

MotoGP Riders Must Look After Their Health in Malaysia

In Malaysia, riders have to deal with intense heat and energy-sapping humidity. They must drink constantly as they can loose up to 2kg of water wait in one 45 minute session on the track. Elly Idzlianizar Ilias is Getting Ready for His Wildcard Ride at Sepang MotoGP Round
The Malaysian is hoping that he will not be too nervous once he is sitting on the 125c.c. World Championship grid this coming weekend. He is one of two Malaysian wildcard entries into the class; the other is Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin. All Ilias is hoping for is a good race since there is no pressure on him to get on the podium. Let's all hope he and his countryman do very well at the Sepang International Circuit this weekend!

Many Reports on This - Motorcycle Deaths Declined 25% in Calfiornia
Compared to the same time in 2008, motorcycle deaths in California dropped significantly. I would say this is primarily due to the sad-sack economy; people just don't have money to ride as much. They probably only commute on them. Plus, there is the fact that insurance has increased in price while everything else went down, including income. And, the government has not fixed the loophole whereby insurance companies can deny coverage to people injured in motorcycle accidents, skiing, surfing, horseback riding, bicycling, etc. Maybe we all need to ride more often just to clear our heads...I really hope that this is not a fluke and is a real trend. Maybe - just maybe - people are getting trained and holding their racing and stunting at the proper venues. Possibly even wearing proper safety gear - now that would be a better world for us.

Aleix Espargaro Will Ride in Place of Niccolo Canepa at Malaysian MotoGP Round
Espargaro will get another chance to gain valuable experience racing in MotoGP - which is where he will be in 2010 - at this weekend's Malaysian MotoGP race. He impressed the Pramac Racing team so much with his ride at Indy and Misano that they hired him full time next year. So, this will certainly help him come to grips with the rather nervous Ducati Desmosedici before he is trying for the championship...

Helmet Manufacturer X-Lite to Release Lorenzo Replicas
If you are a fan, or you just like the style of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo, X-Lite will have you covered. They are releasing three helmets from this year's MotoGP Championship - the standard black with the red "X" and the 'evolution of Jorge' (pictured above), the Captain America helmet he wore at the Indy GP, and the NASA-themed lid he won with at Estoril. They are not cheap, but then they are great helmets!
Ducati's Casey Stoner Faces Real Test of His Health
Once the MotoGP teams get to Malaysia - they are mostly there now - they will experience the standard high temperatures and extremely high humidity. Casey Stoner, who took off several weeks in order to recover from whatever he had - and they have not figured that out yet - will be facing a real test of his health. The heat and humidity are notorious for pushing the human body to its limits. We just hope that Stoner stays cool.

Alex de Angelis Gets Help with MotoGP Contract from San Marino
Some of you may know that the Most Serene Republic of San Marino is actually its own nation within Italy. Alex de Angelis is a citizen of that nation. He has lost his ride on the Gresini Honda team, but the Secretary of Sport and Tourism of San Marino is working hard to secure him a ride at Scot Honda, which is also based in, you guessed it, San Marino. The state is promising to assist financially if necessary...

Guam International Raceway Hosts GIRMAC Supermoto Race Series
Now, I have to say that I have not heard of this series before, but they sure take racing just a seriously as every other national-level racing group. The Supermoto race was held in the parking lot at the Guam International Raceway - the lot was transformed for the event. Kawasaki-mounted Caleb Barretto took victory at what is the 8th event in the series; and Gener Lumbre took the win on his Kawasaki in the Minibikes class.

Yamaha Displays 'Super' Tenere Adventure Bike at Tokyo Motor Show
This is just in from MC (UK). Apparently, Yamaha is working on a larger and much more powerful version of their Tenere (no, the US does not get this model) - the Super Tenere. It will be equipped with a 1200c.c. parallel twin, shaft drive, traction control, ABS, and much more. I think they will be trying to take market share from the awesome BMW R1200GS. It may even enter production in the middle of 2010.
First Ride: 2010 Brammo Enertia Electric Motorcycle
Well, we keep hearing about the electric motorcycles for sale now, but I have yet to come across a decent riding impression - until now. The author managed to get his hands on an Enertia at a Best Buy store in California and took it for a ride. He liked it for what it is, a first generation electric motorcycle which is fun for experienced riders and welcoming to beginning riders as well...

More Praise for the 2010 Aprilia RSV-4 - from UAE Sportbike Championship Winner
Arushen Moodley did very well in Dubai - he won the first race of the season. The really interesting part of this is that he did it on an almost stock Aprilia RSV-4! His teammate brought another of the Aprilias home in second place, and the bike is only going to get faster as the team tunes and modifies it...
