Tuesday Morning Moto News - MV Agusta, Bimota & Aprilia

A new Italian firm has just announced a very special MV Agusta Brutale model - the Tamburini T1. It is full of exotic parts which can only be sourced from a company set up by Massimo Tamburini's son, Andrea Tamburini, called Tamburini Corse. It is in the old MV Corse stomping grounds of San Marino and makes parts and accessories exclusively for MV Agusta and Ducati motorcycles. You will notice that, in the photos, they have modified a pre-2010 model Brutale just to show what can be done. Have a look, I am sure you will be pleased.

Over at the RareSportBikes for Sale blog, there is a listing for a 2008 Bimota DB6R, a very special machine indeed. It is the top-end model of the DB6 range and comes with all of the lovely unobtanium parts and accessories that you could ever want. This bike belonged to the importer - former importer - and only has 1100 miles on the clock. Plus, it is full US-spec. It is worth a look!

Another riding impression of a 2010 Aprilia RS125, but this one was tested in the US. The bike is well-sorted and built for track duty or just simple racing. It is light, handles well, and is designed to get you around a track as fast as a 125c.c. two-stroke is capable of doing. Take a look and you may want one for yourself.

More Friday Morning Moto News - Rossi, Aprilia and Charley Boorman

As if we did not already know this - if you are a fan and you pay attention at all, this is common knowledge - an article is stating that Valentino Rossi would rather race in the World Rally Championship than take a seat in Formula 1. They just keep asking him the same questions over and over again, and it never seems to annoy him. Rossi is a respectful guy and we may yet see him behind the wheel of a WRC car within the next few years.

Now on to a quick test of the sweet two-stroke Aprilia RS125. Alex Gobert took a Biaggi replica version out for a roaring ride and found that the little machine is one hell of a fun bike. It is well-made and it looks fantastic in any setting. The bike is good for new riders and old timers at the same time. Of course, in the US it would be a track-only machine, but I still want one!

Take a ride with Charley Boorman through Africa! He is taking a tour group - with rented BMW R1200GS or 650GS motorcycle from Capetown, South Africa, all the way up to Victoria Falls in Zambia. It is a pricey trip, but everything is provided and you don't have to worry about anything on the trip but having fun and enjoying the exotic scenery! Have a look...

Malaysian MotoGP Wild Card Riders Receive Their Aprilia RS125s

Riders Elly Idzlianizar Ilias and Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin, who both took part in the 125GP race at the Sepang MotoGP round, both managed to finish the race higher than where they started - and impressed many viewers. AirAsia had stated that if they finished the race, both riders would receive special Aprilia RS125 motorcycles for their incredible performances. That promise was honored yesterday...

An Interview With Former KTM 125 Racer Marc Marquez

Marquez will not be on KTM next year as they have pulled out of the Grand Prix series. So, the eight place overall finisher in 2009 will be tackling a new Aprilia for 2010 in the 125c.c. class. He will be riding for the AJO Team, who had some success in 2008 with Mike di Meglio. So, hear what Marc has to say...

Young Rider Competes in North Dublin Motorcycles Aprilia Challenge Championships

Conor Parkhill is 12 years old and finished fourth in the North Dublin race series on an Aprilia built by his father with parts off of eBay. That in itself is amazing, but just the fact that he was competing against teenagers up to six years older than him and he still managed to gain enough points to take fourth! Parkhill is getting the attention of race promoters all over the U.K. and in some parts of the world! Take a read and see someone who may be a future great motorcycle racer...

Racer Sam Burman - A Look Back on the 2009 Season

Burman competed in at least three series - the NGRRC 125cc Championship, Thundersport GP3 series, and the ACU National 250cc Championship (run along with the NGRRC series). So, she used two bikes during 2009 - a Bartonfield Ltd Honda RS125 and a Penrith Motorcycles Yamaha TZ250. Riding two different manufacturers' motorcycles, and competing in three series, is enough to prove that she deserves to be in the road-racing world. But, it is her results which keep her sponsored and keep her on the track. Good luck in 2010, Burman!

Aprilia Confirms RSV550 Prototype Exists - May Enter Production

Unfortunately, this awesome idea for a motorcycle will not be in showrooms anytime soon due to the sour economy. However, Aprilia has confirmed that they have taken the 550c.c. V-twin engine from the SXV and RXV and placed it into a RS125 chassis. It will be called the RSV550 and it would be manufactured alongside Aprilia's streetbikes - if we ever get to see it come to life...The RSV550 is a very good idea! Let's hope it does not die...

Aprilia Releases Race Replica Versions of Small Displacement Motorcycles

The two bikes, which will be dressed in the same livery as the RSV-4 Factory motorcycle, are the RS125 SBK Limited Edition and the SR50R SBK Limited Edition sports scooter. Only 50 will be imported to Australia, but I am not sure if they will produce more for other markets - check with your local Aprilia dealer ASAP if you want one!

Riding Impression: 2009 Aprilia RS125

Well, this is only a video - no good text review is included - but it should give you a good idea of how fun the RS125 is to tack to a track...and, believe me - despite its small size, it is a riot!

Aprilia to Produce Max Biaggi Replica RS125

The US will not see it - unless you get one on the gray market - but Europe will have two different Max Biaggi replica Aprilia motorcycles. The first will be the RS125, and it will only have the paint scheme of Biaggi's RSV-4, unfortunately. The RS50 will also see a similar color addition.
