Charley Boorman Tours & 30th Bristol Classic Show

Charley Boorman is touring the UK theatres with a one-man show based on his adventures throughout the world. Given the success of "Long Way Down", "Long Way 'Round" and "By Any Means", this show promises to be very entertaining and even educational. The 30th Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show was back in late February. If you made the show in Somerset, England, then you know how many lovely classic and rare motorcycles were on display there. The historic show always brings in the crowds and this year was no exception. It is a huge show which resides in four exhibit halls and lasts two days. Friday Evening Moto News - Bikesafe London / MCN London Motorcycle Show

Making a welcome appearance at the MCN London Motorcycle Show this weekend at the Excel Center in London were the representatives of Bikesafe London. The sessions are designed to stress motorcycle safety through skills development, training and good old experience... and it reduces their insurance costs as well. Charley Boorman and Chris Walker were among the many rather interesting people who were at the show as well. More Friday Morning Moto News - Rossi, Aprilia and Charley Boorman

As if we did not already know this - if you are a fan and you pay attention at all, this is common knowledge - an article is stating that Valentino Rossi would rather race in the World Rally Championship than take a seat in Formula 1. They just keep asking him the same questions over and over again, and it never seems to annoy him. Rossi is a respectful guy and we may yet see him behind the wheel of a WRC car within the next few years.

Now on to a quick test of the sweet two-stroke Aprilia RS125. Alex Gobert took a Biaggi replica version out for a roaring ride and found that the little machine is one hell of a fun bike. It is well-made and it looks fantastic in any setting. The bike is good for new riders and old timers at the same time. Of course, in the US it would be a track-only machine, but I still want one!

Mr. Boorman is on a trip to Oz now to promote his latest adventure - going form Sydney to Tokyo by any means (or By Any Means, as that is apart of the title as well) he can to get there. Photos from "Long Way Down" to Be Auctioned for UNICEF

The "Long Way Down" photos were created (matted and framed) and displayed at the 2008 Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance near San Francisco, California. They toured the world as they raised awareness and money for UNICEF. I saw the exhibit at the Laguna Seca USGP in 2008 - they were good. Well, they will now be auctioned off on eBay - they are all being auctioned together. Good luck!

Steve Alexander Wins £30,000 Carole Nash Old Skool Bobber

Of course, the presentation ceremony was held at the NEC, where the Carole Nash International Motorcycle & Scooter Show is being held now. Alexander entered a contest for the bike by getting an insurance quote from Carole Nash - he even signed up for the insurance since the quote was very good - and then, amazingly, he won it! Charley Boorman handed him the keys to the one-of-a-kind bobber on the stage on Thursday, 26 November 2009. Lucky...

Charley Boorman Is Now a Cult Figure

And why not? The man has been just about everywhere on the Earth. He's really a nice guy. He's pretty damn resilient. And, those great series, Long Way 'Round and Long Way Down, were both awesome in DVD, book, or TV format - everyone who loves motorcycles should watch them. Charley Boorman has gone around the world on motorcycles, raced in the Paris-Dakar, and is looking at even going into the Baja 1000 at some point. There is just so much this guy does...I wish I knew him. I bet he has some great stories that not many have heard yet...
