More Afternoon Moto News - Triumph Colors, Dallas Chopper Show and the Oak Tree Tavern at VIR

Triumph is introducing some new paint schemes on their 2010 models. The newest color is the very cool Scorched Yellow, which will be available on the Street Triple. It's not the biggest news, but it is nice to know.

Viper Motorcycles is now a major sponsor for the Rick Fairless Strokers Dallas Bike Show and Parts Expo in Texas and running in April of this year (no dates provided in the press release). It will be another repli-chopper type show with miles of chrome and very stretched out forms and bars, but you may find it interesting if yo are, in fact, into those sorts of motorcycles. Check out the release after the link.

The Oak Tree Tavern, at Virginia's Virginia International Raceway, will be holding its re-Grand Opening on 29 January 2010. The restaurant and bar has new management and a completely new menu. It will be open as a regular establishment and is family-friendly. If you get near VIR, you now have a historic place to eat your meals and drink your pleasure.

Yamaha on Fire at VIR this Weekend (16 August 2009)

It may be called the Suzuki Big Kahuna National, but Yamaha was on fire at VIR - in a good way - not like an iPhone! After Josh Herrin took both Daytona SportBike events, his teammate Josh Hayes went on to win the American Superbike race. All of this action took place on the beautiful circuit of Virginia International Raceway. It was a very good weekend for Yamaha USA.

Triumph fans should like this result in AMA Pro Moto-GT. I know I am - that 675 triple of theirs is a great motorcycle.

Going to the 2009 Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIR

If you plan on stopping by the race at Virginia International Raceway for the AMA Pro Racing round August 14-16, 2009, bring your charitable heart! The Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals are an annual event at VIR and should be just as enjoyable as always this season. While you are there, though, you have a chance to give back to the local community; bring your food items and drop them in the boxes all around the track. God's Storehouse will be picking them up and delivering the goods to families in the Virginia mountains who have been hit especially hard during this economic downturn.
