Using only a 50c.c. motorcycle engine, competitors must make seven laps around a track for a total 10.4 miles (16.8 km) while using the smallest amount of fuel possible. The record for the event is 8,080 miles per gallon (3,435 km/litre) which was set in the 2001 event. That's absolutely amazing! I wish that my truck got just 1% of that. This year no one was able to break that one, but some teams did very well on what amounts to less than a thimble-full of gasoline.
