I cannot say that I blame them given the circumstances; AMA Pro Racing is very different from any other national motorcycle racing series in the world. However, I do not applaud the way they have parted ways with the Corona team and Neil Hodgson. It would be better for them to continue supporting them, but do it at less than a factory level - many manufacturers have done this before. The current ownership of the AMA Pro Racing series needs to seriously re-consider its current path, though. They are loosing many fans...

2009 Beta 525 RS-Supermoto Motorcycle Review
Out of Italy comes a well-known off-road brand known as Beta. They have been around for many years and have made some nice bikes. Their newest offering is the 525 RS supermoto, and it is a bike made for adventure. It will go just about anywhere, and the lump is made by KTM meaning it is well-made. However, this little company hardly ships any of their machines to the US - and what does get here is rather expensive. It is something different, though, and will certainly get you noticed...

He has been putting in a performance worthy of 'rookie of the year' honors in British Supersport; unfortunately, a crash sidelined him with a broken foot. Well, when he returns at Silverstone, he will be riding in the British Superbike Championship.

Ducati Rumored to Produce Smaller Hypermotard
The rumors have been flying around for a few months now, but there is yet to be any confirmation from the Bologna factory. It is said to be similar to the Monster series - as in the 696 Monster - and could be a Hypermotard 796.

Toseland to Appear at Donington Park's Bike Night - 22 September 2009
More than 300 riders are supposed to attend, but the numbers are likely to grow as this news spreads. However, that is still much more intimate than seeing him at a Grand Prix. Even with the questions surrounding his future now, James Toseland remains positive. So, go out and cheer him on!

17th Annual Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance Features Historic Motorcycles
A Ferrari motorcycle stands as testament to the fact that it is name which more than one family shares. It is a beautiful piece, though, and certainly qualifies in the realm of Italian moto design. To the left you see an example of a simply stunning 1961 Ducati 175 Sport! So many lovely machines in one place. Plus, after the link, they have some incredible hi-res photos. Oh, and there were some cars there too...

Ben Spies Replica YZF-R1 to be Available in U.K.
A local shop, CMC, has already done a Rossi and a Toseland replica and is now offering a Ben Spies replica YZF-R1 for sale at £12,499. Too bad that Yamaha does not do this for the US market; it would sell very well here. I am sure that some shop in California will oblige us at some point.

Yamaha to Build Factory in Pakistan
Yamaha Motorcycle Company will invest US$150 million to set up a factory in Pakistan to assemble motorcycle on a large scale. By 2017, the factory will build engines as well as manufacturing motorcycles from parts made in Pakistan.

South Africa's First Historic Motorcycle Museum Opens
In the sleepy village of Deneysville in South Africa, the Historic Motorcycle Museum has set up shop. It is the first of its kind in South Africa and, most likely, the only one on the entire continent. Given the large number of racers, tuners and motorcycle fanatics from the region, the new museum should not be missed if you travel or live in the area!

Mahindra & Mahindra of India to Work With Italjet Moto of Italy
They will be using the Italian help to produce scooters in the hyper-competitive domestic Indian market. Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) already has the rights to produce some of the Italjet line, but the partnership should allow much more technology sharing and plenty of design interaction.

Paul Bird Motorsport to be Kawasaki Factory Team in World Superbike
Though they will be based in the north of England, Paul Bird assures his - and Kawasaki's - fans that this will not be an issue in the mostly European-based World Superbike series. This is a step which to me seems like an 'about time' issue...Kawasaki should have factory representation in WSBK!

Where Will Alex de Angelis Be Sitting Next Season?
De Angelis has nothing signed for 2010 and he is still turning in results - how odd. If he does not find something in MotoGP, he will move to World Superbike or a similar series. The crash at Misano has hurt his status, but that should really be taken in context with his many podium finishes over the last few years. Whoever picks him up will not be sorry!

Very Good Technical Detail on 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1
The 2010 Yamaha R1 is really an amazing machine even though it is little changed from the 2009 model. It still contains that 'crossplane' crankshaft with which we are all familiar, and which works wonders on the track or street!

Rossi: Switch to 800c.c. MotoGP Bikes Biggest Mistake in 15 Years!
Valentino Rossi is what you could call and expert on motorcycle racing; after all, he is the best in the world currently and is on track to take his 9th Championship! According to him, he liked the 990c.c. engines better than the 800c.c. version because the previous displacement was, "a lot more fun."

FIM's Ippolito Confident of MotoGP Grid Expansion
He does not see it until 2011, but Vito Ippolito is sure that the cost-cutting measures which MotoGP put in place this season will pay off in the future. With the worldwide economy slowly crawling towards recovery, he still sees 2010 as a bit of a challenge, but 2011 should see the series emerge from this bottleneck.
